Hey, hey! If you need some outfit inspiration, today’s post is for you! I’ve got tons of outfits for early fall, including some for pretty warm days and a few with light sweaters for cooler climates. About half of these are outfits I’ve already worn while half of them were just try-on sessions or me styling pieces to highlight a sale for you. I’m itching to wear some of the ones with sweaters though once our weather cooperates (in a couple months, haha!) Regardless, I hope you get some outfit ideas!
About Daily Outfits
These are outfits I’ve been showing on Instagram (@puttingmetogether) and Facebook! I post outfits on both of those channels that never make it to this blog apart from these roundups. Often by the time I post them here the sales aren’t happening or the items have already sold out. SIZING INFO: I’m 5’6″ with a short torso and normally size S/M or 6/8. Size 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
Waffle button-up tops are everywhere this season, and this is a really great inexpensive one at only $18.99! I own it in 3 colors, another of which I’ll show below. This white one does not require a camisole if you’re wearing a nude bra. It’s a little thicker, so I LOVE it for days when I don’t want to wear another full layer like a cardigan but want something more than a thin tee. It’s super soft, comfy to wear, and great to breastfeed in!
NOTES: It is totally oversized. Wearing size S and it’s still huge. Requires a knot for sure! Also, it can snag easily, since it’s waffle knit and the weave is open. If that worries you, then pass. Otherwise, get it in 9 colors HERE!

This is the waffle top in “Red” but it looks more mauve in person which I LOVE! Totally spot on color for this season.

Short sleeves and a lightweight utility vest are great for a warmer early fall day. You could even swap the booties for some low profile sneakers if booties are too hot for your weather. This top is one of the back-in-stock items I talked about last week!

This is an adorable sweater I was trying on when looking for items for my recent LOFT collaboration. I didn’t use this sweater for the post, but it did come home with me ?. It’s soft and comfy with a medium weight and has cute puffed sleeves to give it some visual interest. So cute! Easy to style for work with grey trousers, or even better, printed trousers! This was a summer-to-fall transitional outfit I was wearing a lot on hotter days since this top is very lightweight. Also nursing-friendly! This top is sold out now, but there are lots of vertical striped tops this season in a variety of weights (thickness of material) and sleeve lengths. Here’s a cute long sleeve one!

This is an outfit I’ve worn several times because I can wear to feel like it’s fall even when it’s 70-something degrees outside. Sometimes I opt for flats instead of booties since booties might still be too warm. And somehow even though all these pieces could be used for the PMT Fall Challenge, this wasn’t even one of the outfit options. I added it as a bonus outfit last minute!
I also love wearing this outfit because this top is very easy to breastfeed in. Remember how I talked about those tanks from ModCloth being so stretchy and comfy that they’re easy to pull down and nurse in? This top is basically the short sleeved equivalent. Usually pulling down v-neck tops to breastfeed doesn’t work for me, but these are sooo stretchy that it does. I’m confident that if *I* can do it, most others can.
Only thing is that the top is quite long. It makes it great to tuck in the front and blouse out nicely, but the back is very, very long. It’s fine with a longer completer piece like an oversized cardigan or even this utility vest, but it’s awkward with a shorter cardigan or similar cropped jacket. In those cases, I would tuck the top in both front and back, and blouse out the back like you would a front tuck. See this top in other prints and colors HERE. I wear size M.

I totally wish I’d worn this, but it’s been far too hot. I took this pic to show an example of an outfit from the PMT Fall Challenge and cannot wait until it’s finally cool enough! This top is one of the featured items in the Fall Challenge, and it’s so versatile!
It’s on the flimsier/flowier side, and it runs a little long. Kinda makes me wonder how/if I can style it with leggings and sneakers and be one of those hip moms I see on Instagram. ? We’ll see if I can pull that off! If it shrinks in the wash as many Old Navy items tend to do, use a clothing steamer on it. 99% of the time this has unshrunken my Old Navy clothes! I already showed this in the Back In Stock post, but in case you missed it here it is! I ACTUALLY got to wear this outfit, and I emphasized “ACTUALLY” because I couldn’t believe it was cool enough for a sweater! I mean, I only wore it during the evening which is always significantly cooler here than in the day, but HOORAY! This thing is so soft, I’m constantly trying to pretend it’s not as hot as it is and wear it, haha!
This is similar to the Dreamers sweater from the NSale. The seller on Amazon is a different brand, but the sweater *is* Dreamers and label on mine says Dreamers. It also feels exactly like the 3 other Nordstrom Dreamers pullovers I own. (Haha, yes I realize it’s a lot. I truly love these!) I own both the ones from Nordstrom and from Amazon, and the main differences are the neckline on this is a raw hem with a more open neckline, it‘s hi-low, and there are slits on the side. Still a great pullover, just a little different. FANTASTIC price! You can get them in several colors HERE! I wear size Small/Medium. If you’re unsure of sizing, read the reviews on Amazon from others.
Note: This pullover is loose and drapey. If that style tends to not work for you, then pass on this sweater. But also check the reviews as people of all different shapes sometimes show pics of them wearing the item.

This is another top I tried on for the LOFT collaboration that I didn’t feature in the post but did take home with me. Super versatile, works for the office or a put together casual outfit. I love it with maroon pants!

Lastly is this outfit that I cannot wait to wear in a couple months when it’s colder. It’s full of PMT staples, so naturally, LOVE!!! These boots are THE color I’ve been searching for for the last several years to replace my old pair. Gorgeous, vibrant cognac! Snagged them during the NSale, and though their regular price is quite steep, I still think they’re a pair worth investing in. They are very comfortable, and this style is classic.
