Hey, PMT friends! It’s that wonderful time of year—the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (#NSale) is upon us!
I cover this sale every year, and while it can be a bit nuts, so many of you LOVE it! But, in case you’re wondering, “What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?” and, “Why the heck do people care about it?” allow me tell you all about it!
WHAT IS THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE ALL ABOUT?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale happens in July, during which you can get a ton of BRAND NEW items for the UPCOMING season on major SALE!
That means it’s not the leftovers from the end of the summer. Rather, it’s brand new items BEFORE the season starts. While I’ve gotten a few warm weather items during the sale, the majority of items are for fall, like jeans, cardigans, fall shoes, activewear, and more.
Many of my favorite wardrobe staples go on sale during this time, which is why I want you to shop it! These are the pieces that I consistently recommend to you for quality, style, and comfort, and you can get them majorly discounted during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!
WHY YOU SHOULD SHOP THIS SALE
I sooooo desperately want you to have an insanely comfortable wardrobe full of good pieces that make you look instantly stylish without having to try too hard. Clothes from Nordstrom achieves all of this. My most comfortable and quality clothes come from Nordstrom, and if you want to transform your wardrobe into an ultra-comfortable, effortlessly stylish one, The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the best time to do it and save.
I have also gotten plenty of other items that sold out during the NSale and were never restocked. Then, as I wear them throughout the year, you guys ask me about them, and I have to tell you that I bought them way back in July during the NSale and they are no longer available. 😭
(And this is why I want to make sure you are shopping the NSale along with me—so you get the good stuff when it’s in stock AND on sale.)
WHEN IS THE SALE?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open to different groups of people at different times, and Nordstrom cardmembers get to shop earlier than everyone else.
What’s important is that a lot of items sell out by the time non-cardholders get to shop. Nordstrom does this to incentivize people to get a Nordstrom card. So if you want the good stuff, sign up for one to shop early! (More on that in a bit!)

About the Nordstrom Card + Get a $40 Nordstrom Note
Now, about the Nordstrom card. I typically avoid credit cards for stores, but Nordstrom is one of my exceptions.
I got a Nordstrom card years ago just to shop the NSale early, and it’s been totally worth it. Especially because there are other great perks to being a Nordstrom cardholder, such as earning points towards Nordstrom Notes with purchases and even getting reimbursed for clothing alterations! You have two options for a Nordstrom card:
1) the Nordstrom Visa Credit Card that you can use at both Nordstrom and other places to earn Nordstrom points
2) the Nordstrom Retail Card which you’d only use for Nordstrom purchases.
I have the Nordstrom Retail Card.

IMPORTANT DATES
- July 3 – EVERYONE gets to preview the sale. Which means you can preview it right now, HERE! If you’re overwhelmed, don’t worry—I’ll highlight some of my favorite items next week. 😁
- July 11-14 – Early Access begins in a staggered way for all Nordstrom cardholders or Nordy Club members with Influencer status or above, based on your status. You can see the start dates below.
- July 11 – Icons
- July 12 – Ambassadors
- July 13 – Influencers
- July 17 to August 6 – EVERYONE can shop the sale.

Fall clothes! This sale is of new arrivals for the coming season, not the leftovers from summer.
I recommend prioritizing higher ticket items and staples, like jeans, jackets, shoes, and sweaters. I usually also try some activewear, makeup/beauty, home decor, and men’s items, too, but with lesser priority.

Here are some tried & true PMT favorites that you will be able to get on major sale in just a few days if you have a Nordstrom card!
Some of my favorites from previous years:
- My favorite brand for comfortable denim, Wit & Wisdom, in a variety of styles. This is the brand that I always wear and recommend. They are SOFT and STRETCHY, and EXTRA comfortable with an elastic strip in the waistband. You can get them for about 30-35%. VERY worth it!
- My favorite Zella leggings. These are comfortable, stay up all day, and have compression which helps sculpt and flatter. They are VERY affordable during the NSale.
- Caslon knit blazers that feel like sweatshirts!
- This throw blanket has become an obsession in my family. We have 4 now, and they’re SO good!
- Sneakers – athletic and slip-on
- Booties & Boots
- These water resistant boots that work pretty well with straight leg jeans
- KUT from the Kloth suede jackets that are SOOOO STRETCHY and lightweight and COMFY!
- Vince Camuto tops – Great staples for work!

Shop Early Access by signing up for a Nordstrom card. The sale opens earlier to everyone who has a Nordstrom card. Items and sizes can sell out FAST, and they often do NOT restock. Some items are exclusive only to the sale and are not available after the sale. A ton of people get frustrated that things sell out, but that is the nature of this sale.
