You guys–these jeans. They are some kind of wonderful. I’ve been looking for replacements for my dark skinny jeans and black skinny jeans since I’ve worn them so much that it feels like a tear is about to rip in the seat area. Been there, done that (while at church–yikes!), and I’d like NOT to repeat that problem!

LOFT Modern Skinny cut, aka my new BFF. I have one pair of LOFT jeans that I really like, so when LOFT ran their promotion again for $20 off all pants I jumped at the chance to try my luck with them again in more colors. They did not disappoint! I’m hardcore in love with them right now.
My problem with pants is that my hips and thighs are slightly on the fuller side but my waist is smaller, so if something fits my legs it’s usually too big in the waist and vice versa. And while curvy cuts of denim are better for fuller hips and thighs I usually don’t have quite enough to fill those. Like I mentioned in the
Wardrobe From Scratch post on
Alterations I often have to tailor the seat and waist of jeans. But
these Modern Skinny LOFT jeans fit me like a glove, I don’t have to tailor anything, they’re really comfortable, the material is not too thin, and they don’t lose their shape. I don’t know that I could ask for more in a pair of jeans.
They’re on the upper limits of my price range, but waiting for the $20 off promotion definitely helps. I got them in this
rinse wash (looks black in these pics, but they’re just reallyyyy dark navy)
and in black. Even after $20 off they’re still kind of expensive, but because I have a proven track record of wearing out these two colors (with holes in the seat to show for it) and they are perfect for me I’m willing to spend more for them. I’ll buy one or two less shirts so that I can have perfect jeans, you know what I mean?
I have been really impressed with LOFT’s jean selection because they have four different cuts of skinny jeans: the normal
Modern Skinny or
Curvy Skinny cuts and the
Modern SUPER Skinny and
Curvy Super Skinny cuts. Plus they have straight legged in
Modern and
Curvy, boot cut in
Modern and
Curvy, and
boyfriend jeans, and they come in a wide range of washes. Oh, AND all in regular, petite, tall, and maternity sizes. I mean, SHEESH, right?
If you have more than “slightly bigger” hips and thighs, try the Curvy Skinny. And if you have thin limbs they also have the normal Modern Super Skinny, or the Curvy Super Skinny for those with bigger hips but thinner legs.
Anyway, I sound like I’m in a commercial, but NO, I’m just in love. 🙂 <3 <3 <3
I think it’s safe to assume that jean shopping is difficult for most people. Like I said, my problem is bigger thighs and bigger hips with a smaller waist. What are YOUR problems when jean shopping?
