Pause for JT

Top: Target (shop)  |  Jacket: Forever 21 (similar, similar)  |  Jeans: Forever 21 (similar)  |  Flats: Old Navy (similar, similar)  |  Scarf: Old Navy (options: onetwo, three)

Can we pause from style today to talk about HOW MUCH I LOVE JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and how freaking happy I am that he’s releasing music again!  It called for a dance party in the kitchen with me and B, cuz when JT’s playing that’s just what has to happen.  You have to dance.  In the kitchen.  It’s the rules.

If I could be any celebrity in the world, I would be JT.  (Do you ever think like that?  Who would you be?)  Musically innovative, fantastic style, incredible dancer, pretty dang funny, and he’s just got pure straight up charisma.  It’d be so fun to be him!  But since he seems to be filling that position marvelously, I guess I am out of luck.  So, instead of being Justin, I will just have to continue taking pictures of myself and having killer dance parties in my kitchen.

I just wanted to share with you how much my style is also evolving. I've always been a fashonista but now I'm mixing colors that previously I would never dare! Raspberry and teal today baby!!! I also went to old navy yesterday and there sale is crazy. Every top I bought was under $10 except for my chambray shirt. If only I can find a mustard cardi and a navy polka dot blouse that's under $25. Trying to fill out my massive closet.

I thought JT would be Justin Timberlake when I read the title in my reader, but then I though, "Noo, that can't be it." Hahaha. You crack me up. I have no idea what celebrity I would be–must go think about it. In the meantime, I love the way that aqua color pops against everything else!

Yeah, some people have said it's not as exciting or have that WOW factor that they hoped it would. But I LOVE songs and artists with a throwback feel, so I am totally content with Suit & Tie! I also remember hating Rock Your Body when he first debuted himself as a solo artist at an awards show, before the album was even out. And then I totally grew to love it. Apparently I just wasn't ready for the new sound and it took a while for it to grow on me!

I love your blog! and I love JT! haha. Your posts are incredibly helpful and thank you for sharing your findings with us! I REALLY need to learn to do this better, my closet is overflowing haha. I was just wondering if you participate in any online "virtual" closet sites like Polyvore or Stylitics? Any thoughts on them? Thanks!

Yes, I follow those rules too. Dancing in the kitchen is fun! I try to partner my sons sometimes so they might dance in the kitchen one day with their wives – but sons don't see the fun YET, they see the embarrassment! I like your outfits that include scarves (because I'm a scarfaholic) and I think your outfit is cute.

You're outfits always make me smile, but this post was especially humorous! Haha. Thanks for the extra laugh! And keep up the dancing! I usually do it all over the house, but my house is small, so it's not so bad.

I don't use Polyvore or Stylitics, but I totally use Go Chic or Go Home (link is on my sidebar). I've written a few posts about why I like them, one on packing, and one on how I use it to give me more outfit ideas. It has a virtual closet, you can make outfits/ensembles, but there's also a really involved community on there from real women who dress very down-to-earth but cute of course!

I LOVE the scarf, AND JT! His new single is very worthy of a kitchen dance party. 🙂 I think if I could be any celebrity it'd be Taylor Swift, she's kind of a guilty pleasure of mine, but I just think she is so dang darling!!

Hi Audrey! I started reading your blog a week or so ago and I absolutely love your style! It's really refreshing to see a style blog for everyday people with everyday budgets. 🙂

I (attempted) to do my take on your olive cardigan with a floral print dress today. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love this outfit. It inspired me so much that I used a little leftover Christmas money to buy a moto jacket yesterday (I have no idea if the one you are wearing is a moto jacket since I don't really know what defines one but whatever). I bought an olive green one from Daisy Rae and I'm soooo excited about it. Thanks for all the inspiration!
