Let’s talk summer style! Today I’m sharing four casual summer outfits to help you get dressed easily. These are all from the brand new Summer Wardrobe & Outfit Guides that are NOW AVAILABLE in the PMT Shop!

I designed these guides so that you could use pieces from your own closet, identify gaps in your wardrobe, and find some new gems to add, and easily create outfits.
A well-built wardrobe has a diversity of clothes. It includes basic pieces that connect and pull everything together and interesting pieces that add life and character. The Summer Wardrobe & Outfit Guides help you think through all of the different wardrobe building blocks so that you can easily put together outfits that look stylish AND interesting.
Let’s see how some of them work together! If you need summer outfit inspiration, here are four casual summer outfits that I copied from the guide–that you can copy, too!
SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
1. Colored Basic Tee + Denim Shorts
First up, take one of your favorite colored basic tops and pair it with denim shorts. What’s fun about this is that you can use any colored top, and you’ll create an outfit. The color adds visual interest. Gotta love how easy that is!
Polish it off with accessories. Bonus points if you bookend the look with same-colored sandals and earrings!

2. Colored Basic Tee + Neutral Pants
Next, take another one of your favorite colored basic tops and pair it with neutral pants. Again, you can use any colored top and pretty much any neutral colored pants, and you’ll create an outfit. For example, you can substitute the basic orange tee from the previous outfit for the green tank! Easy, right?

Pull it together with accessories and metallic sandals!
Psst…metallic sandals are awesome to throw on when you have no clue what else to wear! Definitely a great option to have in your wardrobe.

3. Neutral Printed Top + Black Shorts
Take a printed top made of all neutral colors and pair it with black shorts. The example top in the guide is a white and tan floral print top. But, I’m using a brown-based top with a small black print instead. Like I’ve mentioned, the guides are structured so that you don’t have to use pieces that look like the pictures in the guide to have a well-built wardrobe!

These shorts are very soft and very lightweight. Super comfy with an elastic waistband, too! They’re available in regular and tall lengths, HERE.

4. Solid Top With Details + Colored Shorts or Pants
Pair colored bottoms with a solid, neutral top that has special details. This is an important type of piece to have in your wardrobe! The neutral color makes it versatile and helps it pair easily with colored bottoms while the special details ensure the outfit is visually interesting.
The example in the guide shows a button up camp shirt. I’m wearing one of my favorite purchases from last summer, this gauzy, textured top from Madewell. It works easily with colored bottoms, but it looks more interesting than a plain white tee thanks to its texture.
And of course, you can easily swap the pants for olive shorts instead!
