Three Winter Outfits With a Tunic Sweater – Sporty, Casual, Date

Winter Outfits With a Maroon Tunic Sweater

3 WAYS TO WEAR A TUNIC SWEATER

Huge thanks to Nordstrom and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post

I know you all LOVE tops you can wear with leggings, but what’s even better is one you can change up for several different activities!  I’ve been loving this tunic lately, and it works in a variety of settings. I’m excited to partner with Nordstrom and ShopStyle to show you three winter outfits with a tunic sweater!

This tunic sweater is a medium thickness and smooths over bumps, but it’s still pretty lightweight. It’s fairly soft and has a flattering silhouette. It’s also got cute button details down the side for added character.  It comes in 4 colors in sizes XS to XXL. Plus it’s ON SALE for 40% off!  See all the colors HERE.  I wear size XS–runs very large.

If in doubt with sizing, remember that Nordstrom offers free shipping and free return shipping on all orders! I love that because I know I can order multiple sizes and try things risk-free. 🙌🏽

SIZING: I’m 5’6” and usually S/M or 6 in clothes, 8.5 to 9 in shoes.

Sporty Casual
For a super casual, sporty type of outfit, try it with leggings and Hunter boots for a cozy tunic sweater outfit.  Add a black vest if you want another layer.  Great for a cozy, comfy outfit on a rainy day! Or, swap Hunters for sleek black sneakers.

These are the Zella leggings I have talked about for years! They’re more expensive than I’d ever thought to pay for leggings (my average price before these were $20, haha!) but they are definitely worth it. They’re thick, not see-through, have a wide, high waistband that helps flatten a tummy and hold the leggings up, and they have compression to help keep things secure.  They’re meant for activewear, but because they’re matte, people wear them in casual looks like this, too. I wear size M.  Try them HERE.  See ways I’ve worn them HERE.

Everyday Casual
This tunic sweater works with blue jeans as well!  Dress it up with tall cognac boots, or keep it casual with wedge sneakers.

These are the wedge sneakers I showed recently in the post 4 Waterproof Shoes for Winter.  They are SO lightweight and easy to walk in despite the slight wedge heel, and they have a soft, fuzzy lining inside!  Pairing them with the tunic sweater makes this an easygoing look for errands or lunch with friends, but also comfy and easy enough to move in for a play date with kids. 🙌🏽 The sneakers come in taupe and black HERE.

These are my newest pair of Wit & Wisdom jeans, which have become my new go-to dark wash jeans the last couple months.  My other pair (the Jeggings) are soft, stretchy, and awesome but lacked the full elastic waistband. This pair is the Ab-solution line with the heavenly elastic waistband for ultimate comfort. 😁👍🏽. Check them out HERE.  I wear size 4 as they run a tad big.

Dressy Casual
This look is very similar to Outfit #1, but swapping chunky Hunter boots for sleek, tall suede boots dresses it up. You can do this look with regular leggings, or kick it up another notch with faux leather leggings!

I’ve wanted to try Spanx faux leather leggings for years but have been on the fence to even try them. I finally gave them a shot, and I’ve gotta say, I’m digging them!  I’m still unsure if I’m going to wear them enough to justify the price tag, but I can definitely see why people love them. They’re extremely comfy, and they add a nice texture that dresses up outfits and gives them that little oomph. Also, they are matte rather than plastic-like, which looks chicer and more upscale compared to many less expensive pairs.  I tried size S, which fits, but I want to try a size up to have a little more room in the waist.

Add a statement necklace and clutch to finish off the look!
