Shopping Help: Embroidered Peasant Tops

Last spring and summer I was starting to dig the peasant top look because of how relaxed and airy they seemed, but I was at the tail end of pregnancy so I held off.  This year I’m un-pregnant (hehe) and eyeing peasant tops more than ever!
Like I said, they are easy, breezy, and casual but easy to throw on over jeans or shorts and look pulled together.  The embroidery makes it so that you don’t even have to think about jewelry, though you could add some bangles or earrings if you want.  And the looseness of them makes them so, so comfortable!
I’ve rounded up 15, including short sleeved and long sleeved ones.  All are from Target, Kohl’s, Forever 21, or J.Crew Factory.  If it has a start next to it, it comes in multiple colors.

I ultimately landed on wanting a short sleeved one.  I think it’ll transition well into the summer, pairing perfectly with shorts of any color!  I tried on 3 of the ones shown above as well as 3 more that didn’t make it into the collage.  Read more about them below!

Row 1 – Short Sleeved:  Option 1  |  Option 2  |  Option 3
I tried Option 1 in store, and it was cuuuuute, cute, cute–from the front.  From the side it was a little puffy until I sized down, and then it was alright.  (I *think* size small ended up looking better on me, but I can’t remember 100%.)  However, fair warning that it is very flowy…?  I don’t know how to describe it, but if there’s a gust of wind, this thing will catch it and pick you up with it!  Other than that, it’s super cute.
Option 2 is getting shipped to me right now, and it’s a lot cuter in person.  My size wasn’t available in store in this color, but I tried one of the other colors for sizing.  Small fit fine, but I preferred how Medium looked on me.  It was a little looser, which is what I was going for in a top like this.
Option 3 is great if you like the dolman sleeves!
Row 2 – Short Sleeved Pleated:  Option 4  |  Option 5  |  Option 6
I think all 3 of these are absolutely adorable, but unfortunately pleated blouses like these usually don’t work well on me unless the pleats start under the bust.  Option 4 seems to hit under the bust, but those sleeves are also not great for my broader shoulders.  Whomp whomp.  If you don’t have these problems, GET ONE OF THESE.  They are SO CUTE!  And in those hot months it’ll feel soooo nice to wear a garment that’s floating away from your body with those pleats!
Row 3 – Not White:  Option 7  |  Option 8  |  Option 9
These would look super fresh with white jeans or shorts.  I think Option 7 was popping up here and there last year, or at least something like it.  Glad to see it’s available now!
Row 4 – Long Sleeved:  Option 10  |  Option 11  |  Option 12
Long sleeved peasant tops are great for breezy springtime or cool summer nights.  You could totally still pair these with shorts and have a little more warmth from the sleeves.
Row 5 – Long Sleeved Colored:  Option 13  |  Option 14  |  Option 15

And finally, tops with colored embroidery!  Option 13 is fun with some pastel colors thrown in.  I think Option 15 is pretty with that red trim all around!  And I tried Option 14 and XS fit me well.  How cute would it be with trouser jeans and strappy cork wedges?  Or yellow shorts!

Will you be rocking a peasant blouse anytime soon?
