Living in the Moment

Top: Kohl’s (shop similar: one, two)  |  Moto jacket: Forever 21 (similar: one, two)  |  Jeans: Old Navy (similar: one, two, three)  |  Pumps: Target (shop)  |  Necklace: Forever 21
This is one of the outfits I discovered thanks to the Go Chic or Go Home closet challenge.  I really cannot believe that I considered getting rid of this top.  This outfit reminds me that colored bottoms really can expand your wardrobe.  I wouldn’t even really consider white a color, but it’s different than blue jeans, and it made this top fresh again.
Anyway, on a totally unrelated note, are you the kind of person who lives in the moment, or are you one who is usually looking to what’s next?  I’m the latter.  I’m super strategic, goal oriented, and like to get things done.  I have no idea how to stop and smell the roses.  I don’t even notice roses are around.  I ask because this weekend begins the non-stop busy weekends, pretty much from now until January.  My natural inclination is to brace myself until it’s all over just to get through it alive, but through out the last few months I’ve been trying to learn how to live in the moments rather than just surviving the craziness.  I don’t want to emotionally and mentally miss all the good stuff that’s happening through out the next 2.5 months–holidays, amazing conferences for work, ALL of my immediate family’s birthdays (except mine), and the culmination of this whole crazy year of traveling: the life-changing conference I’m part of for work that takes place at the end of this year.  But at the same time I need things to be able to prepare myself and pace myself for each upcoming thing so that life doesn’t crash and I don’t burn out before the end of the year.  Do any of you feel like you have found a healthy balance between the two?
