How to Wear a Polka Dot Pencil Skirt in Any Season

The beauty of a polka dot pencil skirt is that you don’t tend to associate it with a season.  For example, with boots you immediately think “fall,” but a polka dot pencil skirt is a piece that seems to transcend seasons.  Excellent piece for your closet.
Today I’ve compiled a collection of ways I’ve worn my black and white polka dot pencil skirt year round.

Spring – Somehow pinks and yellows seem very “spring” to me, and that’s exactly when I wore this outfit.  I’ve also worn it with a white top and bright yellow cardigan which felt very springy too, but I’m too lazy to hunt down that picture.  (It was quite long ago.)

Summer – I paired it with a vibrant green and a strip of neon for summer.  I threw on some tan shoes rather than black or a dark color to keep the outfit feeling upbeat.  And of course, bare arms!
Winter – Layered with a long-sleeved shirt, sweater cardigan, and tights.  You could also do a sweater rather than a cardigan, which is another way I plan to wear this skirt this coming winter.

Fall #1 – This look is more for the transition between summer and fall rather than in the thick of fall.  It’s not too far off from the spring and summer looks, but with longer sleeves and a more “fall” color, maroon.
Fall #2 – I don’t know what says “fall” more than a chambray top and boots!  Haha.  This is a simple way to wear a polka dot pencil skirt in the fall, and I love it!

I think my favorite are the fall ones.  Do you have a favorite?

Sorry, to all you non-pencil skirt wearers.  I tried to look for affordable, cute non-pencil polka dot skirts, but I only liked the one shown above, number four.  I’ll keep being on the lookout!
