Now let me share some holiday outfits for family gatherings, like going to see Christmas lights, having Christmas dinner, and family gift exchanges, so that you can feel comfortable and confident as you enjoy your time with family!
SIZING: I’m 5’6” and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
1. Christmas Lights or Movie Night: Cute Sweatshirt + Girlfriend Jeans
For a casual but festive event with the family, like seeing Christmas lights or hanging out with family friends for a holiday movie night, go for a sweatshirt like this one that says, “Merry” in sequins! A cute, festive sweatshirt makes even super low-key activities more special! This says “Merry” in sequins, and it’s lightweight and comfy with a great drape. Find it HERE. I wear size S. Add to the casual vibe by pairing the sweatshirt with girlfriend jeans and either casual lug sole boots or sneakers. These girlfriend jeans are thick and sturdy but also stretchy and comfortable! For shoes, I’m showing both boots and sneakers. These boots are GREAT for casual outfits! They’re comfortable with a low, rubber sole, and they’re WATER-RESISTANT! 2. Gift Exchange, Dinner With Friends, or Christmas Lights: Sweater + Girlfriend Jeans
Step it up just a bit by swapping your sweatshirt for a sweater! This sweater is PERFECT for festive holiday outfits for family gatherings! The color is great and the texture adds visual interest, which automatically adds style. I also love its relaxed fit for creating stylish outfits without looking overly dressed up. 3. Gift Exchange or Dinner With Friends
An alternative option is to wear the red sweater with corduroy pants. Corduroy adds a cozy and rich texture to outfits, which is very fitting for this time of year!
The corduroys I’m wearing here are by Wit & Wisdom, and they are VERY SOFT and stretchy, complete with elastic in the waistband. They’re SUPER comfortable! They are limited in sizes, but they are SO comfortable and are a great way to add variety from jeans that I wanted to share them with you in case you can snag your size! Check them out HERE. 4. Dressy Holiday Dinner, Christmas Eve Service, or Holiday Show: Sequin Sweater + Bootcut Jeans
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: sequins are a fantastic and fun way to dress up! If you don’t want to go for an all-over sequin top, a sweater like this with sequin sleeves is a better option!
This sweater is stretchy and comfortable to wear. The sleeves add that special, dressy element that makes it stand out. You can pair this with jeans, black slacks, statement pants, and a skirt. It’s really versatile! It comes in 4 colors, which you can see HERE. I wear size S.
I paired it with dark wash bootcut jeans to create an outfit to wear to dressy holiday dinners with the family, a Christmas Eve service, or a holiday play or concert. These jeans have been PMT community FAVORITES for many, many years, and they’re still going strong. A darker wash instantly dresses up outfits–it automatically looks chic and polished. More importantly, these jeans are REALLY SOFT, very stretchy, and SUPER COMFORTABLE! Of course, they have the stretchy elastic waistband for ultimate comfort. So, you can look really polished and put together but feel really, really comfortable! Check out the jeans HERE. You can find a very similar pair that is equally as soft (if not even softer), HERE! I sized up to 8 for a looser fit around my thighs, but if you don’t have fuller thighs like I do, go for your regular size.
