Christmas Errands and Target Kaylor Boots Review

Merry Christmas Eve!  Does anyone else feel like the holidays came (and are going) really quickly this year?  We’ve been hosting and visiting family since Friday, and while we’re still with family our schedule has finally slowed down a bit.  Enough to blog, at least.  ðŸ˜‰
I finally decided on some black boots from Target, and this is one of those outfits that accidentally came together.  I was trying on the sweater and was too lazy to take off my tee and ended up liking the extra layer of the black tee popping out.  So I wore this outfit for last minute Christmas errands.  We were really good about getting Christmas gifts early this year, but because of our travel schedule and not being able to carry certain items on planes, we planned one day of last minute errands.  It turned out to be a great opportunity to test my new Target boots!

Kaylor Slouchy Boots Review
I landed on the $40 Kaylor Slouchy Boots from Target because I’m still not confident that I would wear black boots enough to justify spending $100+ on them.  For my replacement cognac boots, I’m definitely going for higher quality, but at this point I’m happy with these black boots.
They have a sort of almond toe shape and a slight heel which add some sleekness.  The heel is made of rubber and they’re really comfortable!  Running errands all day in them was the first time I’d worn them, and my feet didn’t hurt one bit.  That’s my kinda shoe.  They also have a fleece lining inside, which makes them even more wonderful!
I found them mostly true to size, or maybe a *tiny* bit on the narrower end.  Barely, though.  I wear size 8.5, and the shaft height is about 15″, and though the Target site says the circumference is 14″ I found it to be between 15″ to 15.5″ in my size.
I contemplated a grey pair instead of black based on some of your suggestions, and since this boot comes in grey also I tried them.  I’m totally in favor of a grey pair of boots, just not this pair.
I think the black pair could pass for more expensive looking than $40 while the grey pair looked a LOT cheaper in comparison.  Don’t get me wrong…I’m not saying the black pair looks like a pair of Frye boots or anything, but the grey pair definitely looks inexpensive.  The material on the grey is smoother and glossier which I think accents the plastic nature a little more.  The black pair is more matte which somehow helps.
The other great thing is that since they’re made of PU I can fold them in my suitcase and not feel bad, whereas I would feel sinful folding my cognac leather riding boots.  Great for packing!
Overall, I’m pretty dang happy with these!
