You all know I’m a huge fan of these oversized cardigans and have them in an array of colors. Yep, the same cardigan in multiple colors (or at least each year’s iteration them). Last winter I started feeling an itch for a black cardigan, putting on outfit after outfit that I felt could use a black cardigan. I’m soooo glad to say that this black cardigan recently came in at Nordstrom!
Before seeing this at Nordstrom I’d already resolved to get a similar black cardigan at a different store for a much cheaper price. But in complete honesty, I wasn’t 100% happy with the cheaper cardigan, however I felt it was my only option at the time. No lie, I tried the cheaper one on and thought to myself, “I REALLY wish this was more like my Nordstrom cardigans–something is just a *little* off.” Still can’t put a finger on what it was, but I set it down waiting for it to go on sale. I waited and waited and waited, and during that waiting period, this one from Nordstrom popped up! You’d better believe I jumped on it ASAP!
This one from Nordstrom is definitely pricier than the cheaper one I was looking at, but it feels a lot, LOT better. In fact, it feels better than all of the other cardigans I own from Nordstrom in different colors that are from this brand. It’s fairly thick and has some resilience in the stretch so it doesn’t feel like it’ll and lose shape easily. I’m a fan! Shop the cardigan HERE.
SIZING INFO: I’m 5’6″ and usually 6/8 or S/M in clothes, 8.5 to 9 in shoes. I wear this cardigan in XS as they run quite large. I have gotten S in past colors and always felt like the shoulders were too big on me.

Everyday Casual #1
This is the kind of outfit I’d typically wear during the weekday in my very casual work environment or out to lunch with friends. I’ve got two of my closet staples on–my white Lush tunic with my new favorite Wit & Wisdom dark wash skinny jeans. Last week I did an Instastory with this outfit showing the different shoe options like my taupe booties, black booties, and these tall knee high boots. I talked through why I liked or didn’t like each version, and I landed on this combo as one of my favorites. I liked how the taller boots anchored the look, had a stronger presence, and overall made the outfit pop more compared to either of the two booties.

Everyday Casual #2
This is one of my go-to combos in the fall and winter: plaid button up + jeans + oversized cardigan + booties or boots. I totally love this all black look with one huge focal point with color and print! The black jeans (which are super duper comfy both in the waist and legs) and black cardigan make the perfect bookends. It’s sooo easy to do and works with basically any shirt you have.

Weekend & Errands
This is a relaxed weekend look with an easy twist tee and sneakers. To deviate from a standard jeans + tee, I used colored jeans instead of regular blue jeans. You’d be surprised how many compliments you might get with jeans + tee if you just wear colored jeans instead of blue jeans! 🙂 The black cardigan was the perfect comfy topper.
