I remember agonizing over whether or not to get leopard print pumps, but now a few years in I have absolutely no regrets. My first pair was from Target, and the print was a bit darker as you can see in the bottom row of pics. I wore them for 2-3 years until sometime last year I updated to my current lighter print pair from Sole Society (sold out now, but same print is available in a shorter kitten heel HERE).
I featured them in my Shoe Basics post as one of my go-to pairs of shoes. They so easily make a casual outfit of jeans + a t-shirt more presentable. Outfits 1 and 5 are jeans and a cotton tee, but leopard pumps not only dress them up a bit without actually feeling dressed up, they also add some pattern and interest. There are some dressier looks in here as well, like outfits 6 and 7. And there are a ton of “in between” outfits that are dressy casual or casual business casual.

I don’t know why I ever hesitated. I love these things! Oh wait, I remember why. Leopard print stuff can be so tacky, so before being exposed to classier leopard prints I had a negative impression of leopard print. No worries though. There’s tons of good, classy stuff out there like the ones below.

I really like #1 because of the lighter print, which I already talked about. Option 2 is a cheetah print, but same idea. This one looks super classy! I think Option 3 is a really, really great classic leopard pump in both the print and the shape of the shoe. And I LOVE that the heel height seems manageable. Option 4 is the cheapest by far, regularly only $30 and currently on sale for less than that. The heel height looks high for me personally, so I’d prefer #3, but someone commented in one of my recent posts that it’s actually pretty comfortable!
