Ways to Wear White Slip-On Sneakers

My favorite white shoes just got restocked, and in honor of that, let’s do a spring remix with them!

These white sneakers have changed my world.  Being white, they really know how to brighten up an outfit.  I also love how they add a sporty twist without looking like workout gear.  You can’t tell in any of these pics, but this pair has a cool perforated texture, and that detail keeps the shoe and outfit more interesting than a plain, smooth alternative.  (See it better HERE.)
I often get asked how to keep these clean, and while I need to scrub the soles, the material on the top is a synthetic upper, not cloth, which wipes clean.  Yeah, it’s easy!  I own both the white perforated pair and the black snakeskin ones, which also come in grey and white.  The white perforated pair is really soft and comfortable, and they didn’t need breaking in.  If you get the white snakeskin pair the material is a little different.  It’s still wipeable, but just be warned it’s not as soft–assuming the black snakeskin is the same material as the white snakeskin.

Anyway, you can wear white sneakers with a LOT of different kinds of outfits.  Here are just a few ways I’ve worn them in the past to give you some ideas.
Skinny Jeans + Striped Tee
We’ll start with basics–skinny jeans and a tee.  I throw on this outfit often when I need to get dressed quickly to run errands or drop off Addie.  It’s casual but looks like a “real” outfit, hehe.  And it’s effortless.

Jersey Dress
I said earlier this week that while I could have worn tan flats or sandals with this outfit (any shoe, really), white sneakers give it a fresher, sportier look and turn it into casual cool.  This slip-on style is good for dresses because it keeps the silhouette sleek, unlike a clunky running shoe.  Even a cool running shoe is more difficult to pair with a dress than slip-on sneakers.

Darker Colors
White is a nice contrast to dark jeans and a medium dark grey sweatshirt.  If I’d worn black sneakers it would have matched my jeans, but I think it would have dragged down the look a little.  I prefer how the white ends the outfit on an upbeat note instead.

Blazer and/or Boyfriend Jeans

I love pairing slip-on sneakers with a blazer!  I typically think of blazers as polishing up a look, but wearing one with slip-on sneakers adds that fun sporty twist.  This blazer is stretchy jersey which lends itself to an even more casual vibe (read more about that HERE), but you could totally do this with a nicer blazer.   That would make the contrast between polished and sporty even more significant and more fun!

Button Up Shirt
A button up shirt can often feel preppy or classic, so like the blazer above, it’s fun to contrast it with sneakers.

Neutrals

Lastly I just wanted to add another everyday casual look, mixing neutrals to keep things interesting.

These really can be worn with so much.  I highly recommend a pair if you want to add something to your casual attire!

Here are a few options, ranging from $39 to $90.  Shoes in the first row are all perforated like the ones I’m wearing here (except you can’t tell in these pics!).
