How to Style an Item in Winter and Spring: White Blouse

Winter to Spring: White Blouse Outfits

For today’s “Winter to Spring” post, I’m featuring this white blouse–yet again.  It’s one of my most remixable pieces, and you can see the many ways I’ve worn it HERE.

This exact top is out in most sizes, but any solid white top that’s flowy with a decent drape will serve the same purpose.  ModCloth has a similar one HERE that will do the trick!

Thick Cardigan + Lots of Layers Underneath + Blanket Scarf + Tall Boots
Even though this top is thin, you can wear it through this latter part of winter with lots of layers on top AND underneath.  For what I typically layer under these thinner blouses in the winter (and I’m not talking about San Diego’s mild winters–I’m referring to trips to the Midwest in the winter) are camisoles and HEATTECHS.  Read about those in my post “How I Stay Warm in the Winter While Trying to Look Cute.”  On top, I’ll layer a thicker cardigan and a blanket scarf, plus tall boots.  And of course a coat if needed.  It doesn’t work for very extreme winter weather like -20, but that’s a whole different beast!

Tan Moto Jacket + Grey Jeans + Leopard Print
I LOVE the color combo cognac + grey + white.  I love grey and white anyway, but I think cognac brings a beautiful richness to the whole thing!

I talked about my new replacement tan moto jacket last Friday.  The one above is my old one (since that picture is from several years ago), but basically the one I talked about on Friday is almost identical.  See it HERE.  I wear it in M.  My measurements match their size chart exactly for Medium, but the M is still on the snug side for me.  Not TOO snug, or else I wouldn’t have kept it!  But if you’re super on the fence or between sizes, I’d size up.

Pencil Skirt + Denim Jacket + Blush or Colored Heels
You can really wear a white blouse like this with anything, but here’s a business casual outfit with it!  Pair it with a pencil skirt of any color–never mind that I chose a neutral here, and dress it down a bit with a denim jacket.  Do you remember how in last Friday’s post on Dressy-Casual style I said a denim jacket dresses everything down?  This outfit is an example!
