My sister-in-law saw my vest the day after I bought it and wanted one immediately. But she asked, “What do I wear it with, though?” If you’ve got the same question, my go-to’s are a long sleeved striped shirt (like THIS) or any long sleeved button up or popover, whether solid or printed. The latter could be a chambray top, a polka dot button up, or my favorite, a plaid or gingham top.
On our trip to NorCal for Thanksgiving I wore the vest with my trusty red plaid top (see it last worn HERE) and layered on this mustard scarf. I like how the mustard contrasts both the navy and the red (primary colors, or 2/3 rule from color wheel HERE) and helps the whole outfit pop a bit more.
After owning this vest for just a short while I have absolutely no regrets. It was my most worn piece last week during our trip as it was easy to lounge at home in or run out for a quick errand and surprisingly kept me warm enough without much use of a jacket in 50 degree weather. (But I also SWEAR that San Diego is colder than the temps read because of ocean breeze. I’ve been able to handle 50 degrees in Wisconsin, Chicago, and NorCal better than 50 degrees in San Diego!)
