From Holiday Shopping to a Work Holiday Party

Outfits With a Red Plaid Shirt
The holiday season can be so busy!  There are tons of gatherings, holiday parties, and not to mention all that shopping to do.  I don’t know about you, but while I like looking and feeling great about what I’m wearing during all those fun times, I also don’t want to have to think about it.  If you’re like me, today I’m gonna help you out!  I’m partnering with J.Crew Factory to show you a couple of looks to get you through some holiday activities.
J.Crew Factory is killing it this season!  They have so many pieces that are perfect for a variety of holiday activities, taking you from casual to dressy activities for all your holiday style needs.  Today I’ll show you how to take one top and wear it for errands and then to a holiday party!

Outfit #1: Holiday Shopping
This top is thick and sturdy without being rigid, which makes it really nice to layer with.  Unlike many thinner plaids, this shirt just stays where you want it to.  I also like that I can wear it with leggings!  I’m normally size S/M or 6/8 and got this in M.
I paired it with a sleek puffer vest for a cute outfit for running around town for holiday errands.  You could also wear it to a cozy holiday gathering.  I’m wearing the vest in S.
I’ve already told you I became obsessed with puffer vests last season, and this J.Crew Factory vest only put fuel to that fire!  It is structured, but thin, giving you a sleek line while still being layered and cozy.  Basically, it’s awesome.  It comes in 5 colors (HERE) and 2 prints (HERE)!

Outfit #2: Office Holiday Party
I love pairing this plaid shirt with more feminine pieces, like this lace pencil skirt and crystal statement necklace.  Those special details glam up a plaid shirt!  To give the outfit a little extra oomph I added a leopard print pump for a fun office appropriate holiday look.
If it’s colder where you live, you can definitely do this look with black tights!

Oh my gosh your so helpful! Love that top. Now I have a question: when you wear statement necklaces do you place the chain underneath your collar or just let it lay flat on the collar? I can never figure out how to wear it😒

Also! How do you keep so dang small!!?!? Lol Your so tiny! 😥 and I wouldn’t even be able to get my leg in that pencil skirt! Lol Any fitness tips?

I place the chain over the collar, usually. Some people do it underneath but I can’t ever get that to work.

Awesome post! I love Factory flannel too. Quick question… how do you decide if a shirt is long enough to wear with leggings? Have a great holiday!

Hi Elizabeth! For me it’s a matter of my comfort level with how much “exposure” there is, haha. I want it to cover my rear, at the very least. Some people want it to cover their front also. It also depends on how thick and secure the leggings are. If they’re really thick and opaque then I don’t mind if the top doesn’t cover my rear completely, like when I bend down or sit or something. For me, tops that are looser fitting and around 28-29″ in length work.
