Two of My Go-To Outfits to Wear When Traveling for the Holidays + Lily Jade GIVEAWAY!

I don’t know about you, but for me the holidays entail quite a bit of travel.  We usually fly somewhere to visit family, and from there we also take road trips to visit friends.  I’ve talked before about how I travel often, so today I’m partnering with Lily Jade to share some of the things I wear when traveling!

Lily Jade bags are gorgeous designer leather bags.  They were created as designer diaper bags that don’t look like diaper bags, but really, they’re just a beautiful EVERYTHING bag that you can use for a lifetime!  I like to travel with them, and I’ll share more about why under each outfit pic.  And great news: Lily Jade is currently running their holiday sale, so all their bags are discounted!

SIZING INFO: I’m 5’6″ and usually size S/M or 6/8 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.

Striped Tee + Cardigan + Stretchy Jeans + Sneakers + Scarf
This is my typical travel outfit formula for flying on a plane, though I rotate different color cardigans or a utility jacket as well as switch between these black jeans and pair of blue denim.  You could do this with leggings too.

I’m often cold on planes (and usually colder in the window seat), so I always need the cardigan and scarf for layers.  Stretchy jeans are a MUST for me on planes.  (And in life, let’s be real.  😛  See my post on Comfy Stretchy Jeans and Pants HERE.)  And as often as I can, I’d rather wear sneakers to trek through an airport, especially while traveling with a kid!

And as much as I love my Nordstrom tote, I almost always travel with a backpack and fold my tote in my suitcase instead.  I love being hands-free walking through an airport to hold Addie’s hand, carry a much needed caffeinated beverage, or just because being hands-free is better!  These Lily Jade bags make great travel bags because you can wear them as a backpack.  Each of their bags also convert from a backpack to a crossbody bag to a shoulder bag, which gives you lots of options for whatever may come when you’re at your destination.

I would wear this outfit in lieu of an athleisure outfit with sneakers for two reasons.  One would be if I need to save space in my suitcase by wearing the boots instead of packing them.  The second would be if right after traveling I’ll be jumping off a flight or out of the car into a meeting or gathering where athleisure wouldn’t be appropriate.

This “butter tee” is fuzzy and super comfy, which is great for traveling!  The jeans are one of my stretchy jeans alternatives to the black jeans above.  The blanket scarf keeps me warmer, and that combined with the butter tee being thicker than a normal t-shirt is enough to keep me warm.

For outfits like this I especially appreciate that the Lily Jade bag is a backpack, but a sleek one.  It totally works in a more casual outfit like Outfit #1, but as opposed to many other backpacks, a Lily Jade backpack is sophisticated enough for a outfit with suede boots!  😛

Let’s talk bag size and POCKETS!  This bag is the Shaylee which is larger than my regular Rosie bag.  In the main compartment I can easily fit my 15″ Macbook and charger, iPad, huge 32oz water bottle, small wallet, small pouch with medicine/chapstick/lotion/etc., pencil pouch, and huge blanket scarf or thick cardigan when I don’t need them, with room to spare.  In addition to its overall size, I also loooove the huge zippered pockets on the outside!  You can securely store little things that you want easy access to, like a phone, phone charger, headphones, snacks, and plane tickets!  Check out all of Lily Jade’s bags and catch their holiday sale HERE!
