Printed Blouse 3 Ways

Over the years I’ve stumbled upon a couple of qualities that I’ve found make for very remixable tops.  I picked up this top recently and I totally love it because besides being very cute, it has TWO of those remixable qualities wrapped up in one!  Here they are:

Same Silhouette as a T-Shirt but Not Cotton
These are shaped like a plain cotton tee and are just as easy to put on, but they look slightly dressier.  That means with the same amount of effort you can have a more polished look.  Also, they can be tucked into skirts, worn with jeans or shorts, and worn with slacks.  You can basically work them into any setting, which points to versatility.  Lastly, if they’re plain, not printed, they’re a blank slate for statement necklaces, pendants, and scarves galore.  This top comes in a whopping 17 solid colors or prints, but mostly solids!  (See them all HERE.)

Printed Top with a Neutral Background
Another characteristic of remixable tops that I’ve mentioned: a print with a neutral background.  The neutral background helps it go with a lot of different colors, and the print adds visual interest to any outfit.  With completely solid tops I usually feel like I have to add a necklace or scarf for interest, but with printed tops I feel less of a need for a necklace while still having the option to add one if I want to.

Tops with either of these qualities have been the most remixable in my closet, but this top has BOTH of those qualities!

So, let’s put it into action!  Here are just 3 of many ways you could wear this top:

3 ways to wear a printed blouse
This top is currently on sale if you buy two (HERE), which honestly is not hard to do because of how many colors it comes in.  I also got it in cobalt to replace the one I had (remixed HERE).  And I loooove it in Pink Smoke or Burgundy Stem too.  Both would be great for fall!

Also, I’m normally size S/M and wearing this in S.

Casual
There are so many ways to wear this in a casual outfit.  But rather than just throwing it on with jeans and calling it a day I added a utility vest and booties to liven it up.  I absolutely love this outfit for the transition into fall!
Another casual outfit I’ve done is with olive shorts and sandals (THESE).  I like the variation of olive cargo shorts in place of standard denim shorts.  You could also do this with bootcut jeans (my favorites HERE), heeled booties, and a pendant or statement necklace.

Office / Professional / Work Wear
There are also quite a few ways to wear this in a business casual setting.  This example is with my new tan skirt from the NSale.  I was originally going to finish it with standard black pumps, but since both articles of clothing are neutral I opted for red/maroon suede pumps to give the outfit a little oomph.
I reviewed this skirt during the NSale HERE, but to recap it is thick and sort of stretchy, and overall a really nice piece to have in a business casual wardrobe.  I’m normally 6/8 and wearing 6.  It *just* fits.  Yikes, haha!

Dressy Casual
Lastly, I paired the top with one of my go-to combos for a dressy casual look: a skirt, statement necklace, and strappy heels.  It pretty much works every time, especially with these types of easy blouses that I love!

These kinds of tops are so versatile and are so easy to wear!  Solid tops like these are typically my go-to pairings for all of my printed skirts too.  This one comes in soooo many color choices, so if you’re in need of some remixable tops check them out HERE!
