Let’s talk through some shoes to add to your casual style!
SIZING: I’m usually size 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
1. Athletic Sneakers
Athletic sneakers are great for activewear, athleisure, and some casual outfits, so they are an awesome casual shoe staple to have. But, have you ever wondered how to look stylish in athletic sneakers? The key is to make sure you find sneakers with a sleek, streamline silhouette, as opposed to a clunky one. The sleek silhouette looks great in athleisure and casual outfits!
These Nike Tanjuns are my go-to sneakers for athleisure. They are really lightweight and super comfy with a memory foam footbed! They pair perfectly with black leggings. They also look great with jeans, thanks to their streamline silhouette. Check them out HERE. I wear size 9.

2. Athletic Sneakers (something colorful or more exciting)
If you want to change things up a bit, opt for some sneakers with a splash of color! These Nike Wearallday sneakers have a fresh white backdrop and pink accents which “lift” your outfit and make it pop! They have a great, streamline silhouette and are lightweight and comfy to wear. While they don’t have a memory foam footbed like the Nike Tanjuns above, they do provide a bit of arch support and a sturdier sole. They are a super fun addition that make your outfits look sporty and stylish! Check them out HERE. They run very large–I wear size 8, when I’m usually size 8.5 to 9 in shoes!

3. Slip On Sneakers
Another option besides athletic sneakers is a versatile pair of slip-on sneakers in a neutral color. A simple silhouette like the one above works with a ton of different outfits. Choose a neutral color like black, taupe, grey, or white, (or several of them!) for the most versatility. I love Dr. Scholl’s shoes for comfort and style. The pair I’m wearing above is no longer available, but there is a super similar pair HERE.
4. Statement Sneakers
Last, try a pair of statement slip-on sneakers to add variety to your casual wardrobe. Whether it’s a pair with an eye-catching print, a different silhouette, other details that elevate it from a standard pair of sneakers, or all of the above, statement sneakers will liven up your outfits.
The pair I’m wearing above has a leopard print, stylish leather heel, and wedge high-top silhouette to add some oomph to your outfits. Leopard print sneakers have been my go-to for casual style because they make casual basics like jeans and a plain sweatshirt pop. That makes it super easy to feel stylish!
Plus, the upper is made of a stretchy knit fabric, which makes it really comfortable to wear as it conforms to your feet! Check out these shoes HERE.
Add some of these styles to your wardrobe to polish up your casual style!
