Two Ways to Wear a Striped Pencil Skirt

Sometimes it seems like remixing your clothes can get complicated.  How do I know which colors I can wear this with?  What if I can’t tuck, knot, or belt my clothes because of my body shape?  How many things can I layer this piece with?  How do I know what kinds of accessories go with this?  All that is fun to play with, but having a versatile closet and mixing up a piece can also be very simple.  Today I’m showing a simple change up with a striped ponte pencil skirt worn casually and for work.

I kept the changes simple to show that mixing up a piece doesn’t have to be complicated.  I paired it with a black tee and other neutral pieces for a casual look.  For an office look I simply switched the tee for a black button up and added some black pumps and a wine colored bag.  A black button up for a black tee is not revolutionary by any means, but it works!  And really, that’s what you need your clothes to do for you–just work.
