One way I know I’m feeling the shift from one season to the next is through my choice of handbags. When I really start feeling the shift in seasons, I reach for a different set of handbags, going from darker colored ones with weightier details in colder months to lighter colored ones with airier feeling details in warmer months. Handbags can really play into the vibe of your outfits, and when springtime hits, I love using bags to elevate those spring vibes!
Today I’m sharing three types of bags that will wonderfully complement your spring outfits (plus a bonus bag!), and I’m partnering with Nordstrom to do it! SIZING INFO: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes, 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
1. The All-Season Everyday Tote
Though I just talked about spring, I want to start off with a tote that I actually use year round. This tote should be absolutely no stranger to you if you’ve been reading PMT for any length of time. But in case you’re new here, I’ve used this thing pretty much every other day for the last 5 years. FIVE YEARS, you guys! It’s got staying power, lemme tell ya.
I loooove this thing. It’s SO, so versatile and goes with so many different types of outfits like everyday casual style, dressier casual outfits, athleisure, and the casual end of business casual. It’s very lightweight too!
And, even though its color is not as airy as taupe or light grey, it still works in every single season. (If you need proof, see my previous posts with this tote HERE.) Above, it’s perfectly anchoring a spring outfit of white jeans + yellow striped double peplum top and wedges!

2. Colored Bag – Blush
Another bag that’s great to have in the spring rotation is a colored bag. Any color works, but for the last several years, blush pink hsas been my go-to! Blush pink adds a soft springy vibe to outfits, and I especially love it with white and grey.
This pink crossbody bag is a great size—big enough to hold essentials, but not enormous. It’s separated into 3 major compartments which all have snap button closures. The middle compartment is the deepest, while the other two are shallower and can hold your phone or smaller items without getting lost deep down in a pocket.
To tie together the look, I added a pretty blush scarf. Scarves are a great way to change up your outfits. This scarf is really soft and such a great complement to the blush bag!
Also BTW, this grey tee has been in my closet for years, and I continue to love how well it drapes. Whenever anyone asks what my favorite basic tee is, without question it’s this! It’s on the thin side and therefore can be prone to getting holes (though mine haven’t yet, years in), but I find that is usually the case with t-shirts if you want a good drape. 3. Light Neutral Bag
Last on my list of must-have spring bags is a light neutral bag, usually white or very light grey. A bag like this never fails me! It goes with everything, plus it helps “lifts” outfits and create light springy vibes. This satchel is almost identical to the pink one above, but slightly bigger. It’s a classic style that will go with many things spring after spring!
Above I paired it with my ridiculously COMFY bootcut jeans. These things are SO stretchy and comfy all through the leg, and there’s even elastic in the waistband! If you’re new here, I’ve been saying for years that they feel like yoga pants, and they’re PMT favorites! I sized up to 8 for a looser fit around my thighs, which also gave them a little more length. If you have thinner limbs, you could stick with your normal size. (I always order two or more sizes since Nordstrom offers free return shipping!) Find them HERE.
Also these wedges are so great that I got them in two colors! (I got Saffron and Tavertine.) I haven’t walked a ton in them yet, but I like that the strap around the toe is soft and the wedge has a platform, so despite the heel, it doesn’t feel that hard to walk in them. They come in 11 colors HERE. The coral ones (Rustee) are ADORABLE too!

One bag that’s not on my must-haves list but is a totally fun addition is a bag with cutout details. This is a version of #3 above–a light neutral bag, but with springy details. The cutouts add more airiness and lightness to outfits–plus they’re just so cute! This bag comes in white as shown above, camel which is a really pretty lighter tan, and black. See them all HERE.
