While my casual fall wardrobe is full of cute sweatshirts and relaxed sweaters, I’ve been searching to add easygoing long sleeve casual tees for fall that I can layer with and round out my wardrobe. You know, tops that aren’t as casual as activewear but are not as dressy as blouses that I can throw on with casual bottoms, like jeans and leggings. I’ve needed a couple more! In case you’re looking for a few ideas as well, I’m partnering with Nordstrom and ShopStyle to share some!

Okay, time for long sleeve casual tops for fall!

SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.

1. Thermal Henley
Our first option is a thermal knit henley top. I have been LOVING this top! It’s just as comfortable and as easy to throw on as a plain long sleeve tee but way better! The texture and button details provide more visual interest which means your outfit will look more stylish without you having to put in more effort. Love pieces like that! The material is a medium weight and is thicker and warmer than a lot of very thin thermal knit tops out there. Plus, this tee has a really good drape that floats away from the body for a relaxed, easygoing vibe. The drape also makes it easy to do a loose front tuck without the top sticking out too awkwardly from the sideview. I LOVE both the weight and drape of this tee! It comes in 5 colors, which you can see HERE. I wear size S.

This top works really well with joggers for lounging at home (like THESE that are on sale), and it pairs perfectly with jeans and super casual slip-on sneakers. Or, you can swap the slip-on sneakers for booties to elevate the outfit just a little more. (Aren’t versatile tops awesome?) BTW, these Chelsea booties are WATER RESISTANT! You know I loooove how water resistant shoes streamline and simplify your wardrobe—no need to change shoes or alter your outfits as much to accommodate when it’s wet outside. While I’m showing the boots here with skinny jeans, the shaft on these is fairly high, so they also work with several pairs of my straight leg jeans. If you are in the market for a tote, I’ve owned this one for a while and it’s my favorite! The color is gorgeous, it’s super large and spacious, it has a zipper closure to keep items more secure, it’s faux leather so it’s really easy to clean (just wipe it off), and it looks good with both casual and work outfits! 2. Striped Tee
Second is, of course, a striped tee! 😄 Stripes provide visual interest to, again, make outfits more interesting, yet they are really versatile and can be worn with a ton of things. I’ve shown many striped tee outfits here, and they can be worn in so many different ways and dressed up or down depending on the type of striped tee. 

A couple that are worth checking out are this one from Caslon and this one by Halogen. The Caslon one is super casual with a somewhat washed, relaxed look. The material is thin but comfy, and you can easily wear it with jeans and a utility jacket or a cardigan. Find that one HERE. I like that one in size M for a looser fit.

The Halogen tee is more fitted and not as casual and relaxed as the Caslon one, though it is SUPER soft, stretchy, and comfortable! You can wear it in casual outfits, but it’s really great for work outfits, too. Check it out HERE. I wear size M. Above is the white/black version of the Halogen tee which is unfortunately no longer available. But, the black/white version is also great, and I’ve been showing it quite a bit lately.

This is a VERY comfy elevated casual outfit that also works in a relaxed business casual setting. All the clothes in this outfit are really, really stretchy and soft! And BTW, this blazer is a huuuge PMT fan favorite, and it’s ON SALE as part of Nordstrom’s Black Friday deals! It’s knit, it’s stretchy and soft, and it feels like a sweatshirt yet it’s a blazer! It’s SUPER comfy! It’s currently up to 58% off depending on the size and color. It comes in 4 colors, HERE. The black one would work well with the black/white version of this striped tee! I wear the blazer in size XS as it runs pretty large, but I would definitely encourage you to try two sizes if you’re unsure. You can utilize Nordstrom’s awesome free return shipping to send back whichever size doesn’t work out.

3. Thermal Top
Last is this comfy thermal top. If you’re wondering how this is that different than the thermal knit henley in the first outfit, I wondered the same thing at first, but there are some differences that help them each have their own place. (And I wanted at least one other casual long sleeve tee option anyway! 😊)

This thermal is a similar medium weight as the henley and has a similar great drape. I LOVE both the weight and drape. It also has texture, seams at the shoulders, and a curved hem, which all contribute to adding visual interest and stepping this up beyond a plain, basic tee. The major differences between this and the henley are that this one doesn’t have buttons at the neckline and it has venting slits on the side for an even looser fit. In terms of function, I find the henley easier to do a front tuck with since it doesn’t have slits on the side, though you can totally do a front tuck with this top. Also, while both this top and the henley work well with jeans and with soft joggers to lounge in (like THESE), I don’t love how the henley looks with leggings in an athleisure look. Something about the buttons just doesn’t look as sporty. I much prefer the way this thermal top looks with leggings, as I’m showing above. This thermal top comes in 4 colors, HERE. I wear size S.

(It has one review that gave it only 1 star, saying it was more like a pajama top that had no style and that you couldn’t wear out of the house. I don’t agree with that, as I’ve styled in an athleisure look here as well as in the exact same outfit with henley, swapping tops and sticking with the same jeans and booties. Just make sure to add a pendant necklace or leather earrings to “toughen” up the soft, loungey nature of the top. It’s all about how you style it!)

Also, these leggings are SO SOFT AND COMFY! And they’re ON SALE! I’ve mentioned them before, but we’ve gotta talk about them again since they’re on sale. I cannot explain how these leggings feel—BUTTERY soft and like super thin micro fleece, except not! They’re a little warmer than typical activewear leggings, too. They also have sporty details like ribbed cuffs and a ribbed waistband, in addition to extra large pockets. Heads up, I thought the pockets widened my wider hips when I tried the light grey color but felt that the pockets were fine in this “Black” color (which reads more like a dark heather grey). I also usually roll up the cuffs halfway because I find them a little long otherwise. They are currently 25% off and are more than worth it at this sale price! Find them in 7 colors, HERE. Those are three long sleeve casual tops you can wear this fall! I already had the striped top but only recently added the two thermals, and they are exactly the kinds of casual tops I’d been looking for for working from home and doing school drop offs and pickups. I love that the thermals can also be worn in loungewear with joggers or leggings and that a striped tee can be dressed up. Versatile pieces are awesome!
