When cooler weather kicks in, sweaters are a necessity! Up until a few years ago I pretty much only wore standard crewneck or v-neck pullovers, which are great closet staples but can get old and boring really fast if that’s all you’re wearing. Anyone feel me? So, to break out of that rut, today I’m partnering with Nordstrom to share four sweaters for fall to diversify your outfits!

Twist Fleece
Let’s start with this PMT super-fave, the Gibson twist fleece! It’s not technically a sweater, but it serves the same purpose! This fleece is laid black and chic at the same time, and OH SO COMFY. The twist at the bottom adds a perfect finishing touch. PMTers LOVE this thing! I have it in 5 colors and love how easy it is to throw on, be comfortable, and head out the door looking put together. Comes in regular, petite, and plus sizes in several colors HERE!
Make it a polished casual outfit with dark wash jeans, booties, and accessories. I’m wearing my very favorite super soft stretchy Wit & Wisdom jeggings. Be sure to size down or else there will be way too much fabric around your legs. I’m wearing size 4 but could even fit size 2! Or, dress it down with jeans or leggings and sneakers. Wrap Sweater – Fitted Sweater w/ Special Details
A faux wrap sweater is a nice departure from a standard pullover sweater, adding a tailored polished vibe without being stuffy. If you need help defining your waist, faux wrap tops and dresses are great for that! This comes in lots of colors, but softer neutrals like grey, camel, and browns are having a moment in the spotlight lately, and this light grey is perfect for that!
I’ve shown this sweater with the ridiculously comfy black Vince Camuto slacks for work, but here it is with the ridiculously comfy stretchy bootcut jeans that feel like yoga pants. 😜 These bootcut jeans are going on 4 years strong! They are insanely comfortable with major stretch, complete with a stretchy waistband. The pair above has yellow stitching along the fly and back pockets. This year’s version is more streamlined with navy stitching that blends into the fabric. I might actually prefer this year’s version! See it HERE.
I wear size 8 in both of these for a looser fit around the thighs which also gives me more length. Note: Most people over 5’6″ find these too short with heels. They’re available in regular, petite, and plus sizes HERE.

Relaxed or Slouchy Pullover Sweater
Sweaters with a looser fit offer more relaxed, laid back vibes than standard, fitted crewneck sweaters. You can find relaxed pullover sweaters in a variety of cuts. The one I’m wearing above is almost sold out, but I’ll share some more in the widget at the very bottom of this post! Another sweater I really like THIS one in Madder Brown. Another great neutral for this fall!

Oversized Cardigan
Last is one of my favorites, the oversized cardigan! You know I LOOOOOVE these things, and my favorite ones are from Nordstrom because of how they drape. Others just aren’t quite the same! I love wearing these over almost anything–a striped tee, my favorite white tunic, plaid button ups, and printed blouses like the one above. Anything, really! Dress them up or down!
This cardigan is available in 5 colors, and my collection includes them all. 😂 This Brown Cattail color was super popular last year and continues to be this year as it’s right in line with the softer neutrals that are popular right now.
