It’s time for reviews! I spent the last few weeks putting together Spring Wardrobe & Outfit Guides for the PMT Style Club, so I have done a ton of browsing online lately… and therefore shopping. 😆 But as a result, I have some GREAT affordable spring clothes from Amazon, Old Navy, and Madewell to show you today!
Some of them are things I was shopping for myself, while many of them are things that I thought a lot of you would like and that I ordered to review for you. That said, I can’t speak to how these things wash, though I can guess based on the material and my previous experiences with similar-feeling materials. I’ll write those notes in the reviews as well!
SIZING: I’m 5’6” and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
Madewell T-shirt – size M
I used to buy cheap $6 t-shirts but I’ve learned that not all tees are created equally. How they drape makes a huge difference in being able to look stylish and modern in jeans + a basic tee and looking kind of frazzled and frumpy.
I love how Madewell tees drape, and this basic tee is no exception. That said, this one in particular is thicker than their popular Whisper Tees, which are very thin. I really like this tee and love the modern, simplistic, but stylish vibe it has. You can find it in 7 colors, HERE. I wear size M in this tee (but I’m usually size S in other Madewell shirts).
Find my kick fit jeans HERE. I’m wearing size 28.
Madewell Sneakers – I wear size 8.5
I shared these sneakers in a random sales & deals list that we sometimes send to our email subscribers. I know this pattern isn’t for everyone, but I sure love it! I love how it elevates a basic tee and jeans and gives it some cool edge.
The shoes themselves are fairly comfortable with a retro style, modern thicker sole, and fun leopard print. I got them during a sale and suggest you do the same! Find them HERE. I’m wearing size 8.5.
BTW, Madewell offers free shipping and free return shipping on all orders, if you’re a part of their Insiders program, which is free to join. I LOVE shopping at stores with free shipping and free return shipping as it makes online shopping way easier and gives you peace of mind to be able to try items without risk or exta costs.
Amazon Shell – wearing size S
This tank is a great piece that can be worn by itself and easily layered under cardigans, blazers, and other jackets. You can wear it with jeans in nicer casual outfits or wear it with slacks for work. Super versatile! It comes in 5 cute prints and 5 solid colors, HERE. And it’s just $19! I’m wearing size S in the print “Black, Ditsy Floral.” There is also a v-neck version HERE.
Amazon Flats – wearing size 9
I’ve had these flats for several years and have shared them many times—I love them though I seldom wear them anymore since I spend most of my days in sneakers. 😆 They are very inexpensive, but really comfortable compared to other cheap shoes at this price point, with a very flexible upper. There is no support as is expected with flats in this price range. And FYI they run pretty wide, so you might wanna pass if you have narrow feet. These come in 13 colors, HERE! I wear size 9.

Amazon Blouse – wearing size S
What a fun little find! This blouse is smooth and drapey, and it works well in nicer casual outfits and paired with work pants. It has a belted waist so that you can create definition at the waist without having to tuck! (Shout out to those who are anti-tuckers.) The waistband is adjustable, and there’s elastic in the back to allow you to move more comfortably. This style of waistband is not great if you have a wider midsection since it cuts right across it. Otherwise, it can create nice definition at the waist! It comes in 28 colors and prints! See them all HERE. I wear size S.
Amazon Maxi Dress – wearing size S
This dress is SUPER comfy, made of SOFT and STRETCHY material. It has an empire waist to offer some definition while still being very fluid, forgiving, and not constricting. Comes in 19 colors and prints, HERE. I’m wearing size S. It’s also made of sustainably sourced rayon blend and is 3 of the solid colors are available in plus sizes.
Amazon Knee-Length Dress
This is basically the shorter version of the one above. Equally as COMFY, SOFT, and STRETCHY! The shape of the v-neck is not totally my style, but it’s a fantastic dress nonetheless that is worth checking out! It comes in 17 colors and prints, HERE. Some of them are made of sustainably sourced rayon, and 3 of the solid colors come in plus sizes. I’m wearing size S.
Find my braided sandals HERE. The straps are really soft!
Amazon Cozy (Fleece-Lined!) Joggers – wearing size M
We are heading into spring but I know spring is still pretty dang cold in a lot of places. So YES—why not fleece-lined joggers? These are smooth, stretchy, and sporty, but they have a thin, fleece-like lining to keep you extra warm and cozy until it warms up. So comfy!
These have a high rise that is unfortunately too high for me so I’ll keep looking for myself 😭. But if you like high-rise pants and are in the market for cozy joggers, give these a try! They come in 4 colors, and in straight, plus, and petite sizing, HERE. I’m wearing size M.
Old Navy Striped Tee – wearing size S
If you need to update your striped tee, here’s an option! It’s thick with a slightly boxy, modern cut. It comes in regular, tall, and petite. Note that it does have short side slits which can make it harder to do a front tuck in some cases. That said, I was able to in most cases with a bit of finagling. Find it HERE.
Old Navy Wide Leg Pants – wearing size S
Wide leg pants are more and more popular in stores. This pair is VERY lightweight—actually more of a summer pair for me, though it could certainly be worn in spring for others. The pants are flowy with a lot of movement, and they work with t-shirts but could also be worn with some nicer tops for a relaxed work look. The waistband has elastic in the back for added comfort. Overall, comfy pair of pants! The downside is that this material does tend to show wrinkles. So while they COULD work in some work settings, functionally, you especially don’t want wrinkles at work. Also, this material seems to be the type that would shrink in the wash. BUT it would also expand back out with the help of a steamer.
My verdict is that this is a cute pair of pants to experiment with wide leg pants and to have for super casual, relaxed settings in which you don’t care about some wrinkles showing.
Available in several colors and prints in sizes XS to 4X and in regular, tall, and petite, HERE.
Old Navy Cropped Wide Leg Pants – wearing size 4
I thought these pants would be really stiff but they are actually really, really lightweight with some stretch to them. This is another adorable pair with which you can experiment with wide leg pants for a lower cost. They come in 6 colors and in sizes 0 to 30 and in regular, tall, and petite. See them HERE. I wear size 4. One thing is that I have not done the stretch test with them yet, but I suspect they will loosen up a little.
Old Navy Powersoft Coze Pants – wearing size S
These pants are REALLY soft, STRETCHY, pretty thick, and COZY! They’re an interesting option for super duper casual outfits at home that are kind of athleisure but also kinda not. Pair them with t-shirts and slip-on sneakers all day everyday for a super comfy, low-key outfit that looks stylish and put together! This pair comes in 4 colors and in sizes XS to 4X and in regular and tall lengths. Find them HERE.
I have many more items that I tried and some orders from other stores, but that’s all I have for you for today. I’ll try to get a part 2 together soon! Hope this helps you find some good pieces to play with this spring!
OH, and BTW, remember you can still get $10 off my favorite Nickel & Suede earrings with my discount code! There are still some codes available, so grab a pair of earrings and get the discount! Details in THIS blog post.
