Shopping Help: Target in the Spring

Sorry if you’re not a Target shopper, but I was back there running errands and even more stuff caught my eye!  I know most of you are still battling ridiculous cold fronts so these clothes are either a welcome escape into spring fantasy land or an invitation back to a dreadful reality.  Either way, you’re all invited to San Diego to enjoy the sun 😀

Option 1 – I walked by this and made a mental note–it’s a great option for the striped ponte pencil skirt I own.  The longer I have my striped ponte pencil skirt the more appreciation I have for it.  It’s incredibly versatile and comfortable.

Option 2 – I made a mental note of this one too as a cute alternative to the floral pencil skirt I was so lucky to score from Conversation Pieces last year.  Since there are so many colors in it, you can pair it with lots of different tops, cardigans, and blazers.  You can even pair it with (what I just learned from you guys is) Pantone’s color of the year, Radiant Orchid.  Not to mention yellows, oranges, greens, teals, and neutrals!

Option 3 – This is great for a casual day of errands, especially in the spring.  Pairs easily with a black or white tee, denim jacket, and sandals.  I’m sure you could also find ways to dress it up!

Option 4 – I showed this one before, but I wanted to give an update.  It’s SO COMFY!  But as suspected, the material shrinks a little in the wash–even hand washed in cold water and air dried.  In store the Medium fit me perfectly and the Large was a little big, but after washing the Large fit better.  Comes in lots of different colors.

Option 5 – I’ve also shown this before, but I ordered it just to try based on some of your recommendations.  I love it!  I’m normally a 6 in Target blazers (between 6-8 but sometimes on a rare day 4 at H&M) but this one fits perfectly in sz 4, so try sizing down.

Option 6 – Super similar to the Forever 21 jacket I own.  If you’ve been looking for one, scoop it up while you can!  Also comes in black.

Option 7 – Striped blazer–I showed a darker striped blazer recently, but I really like light white/grey stripes too!

Option 8 – I’ve been looking for a plain, grey dress, and this one is adorable with its pleating at the neck and waist.  I’m not sure how the waist pleating will look on me (usually not good), but there’s only one way to tell, so I’ll be ordering it soon.  Also comes in navy.

Option 9 – Similar to Option 8, but has darting at the bust.  Also might be more fit and flare than I’m looking for, but again, there’s only one way to tell.  Comes in a few different colors.

Option 10 – Fantastic springy dress!  I think it’d be great for Easter paired with a yellow, green, purple, or orange cardigan.  It’d also be great for brunches or bridal or baby showers.  I’m not sure how casual you could make this, but it’d be really cute with a denim jacket.

Option 11 – This is a springy dress that would flow better from parties to everyday casual wear.  It’d also transition well from spring to fall with tights, boots, and cardigans.  I think a mustard cardigan would be adorable with this!

Unfortunately there are no Target stores in Greece but since I got my hands on the Peter Pilotto for Target collection that was available through Net-a-Porter, I really appreciated the quality & prints & wish I had the opportunity to shop from them… Great choices, especially the floral strapless dress…

    Have a great day!!!

I was at Target today and didn't see any of these! I did score an adorable dress (I'd link to it, but I don't see it on the Target website), a sparkly gold belt, and a cute small purse. I'm planning to wear it for my Valentines day date. 🙂 It's floral, so it feels springy, but it's mostly fall/winter colors. I'm going to wear it with black tights and a royal blue cardigan, belt it with my sparkle belt, and carry my new purse which is kind of an orange-y coral. It should be super cute!

I love the flower printed skirt and it would definitely be on its way to my closet, if it hadn't been for the horrific taxes on US goods, imported to Europe. The price will be double or triple… sigh.
The grey dress, however, has a twin at H&M, hooray! A little different at the neckline, but the same silhouette.

    Great blog, I'm really inspired!

I need both of them, puffer and cargo. The only puffer I found that I liked and didn't make me look like the stay puff marshmallow man was construction worker neon yellow. And not in a good way!

I try to avoid browsing the Target clothing section (online and in person) because there are just too many cute and affordable things and I don't want to tempt myself… but now that you've put up this post I can't help but fall in love with the floral skirt (#2)- I have a black version from last year and I've worn it so much, the white version would just be perfect, not to mention I still love your Conversation Pieces skirt and have been looking for something just like it (I had a dress in the exact same fabric but I hated the top so I chopped it off and made it into a skirt, but it's a full skirt and I don't exactly like how it fits so I can't really wear it just yet).

Anyway, unrelated to this post, but I really love how you stay true to your blog's purpose and audience- I know you are probably making bank with your blog being so popular, but you still shop for bargains and love clothes from Old Navy/Target. Other bloggers in your situation would start wearing head-to-toe J.Crew and act like they're above shopping at Target… but we all know it's your favorite store 🙂

I've actually gotten A LOT of mileage out of my spring flowy flowery clothes like the ones pictured above simply by putting a black long sleeved tee or black cardigan and black flannel lined tights and boots underneath the lighter layers. I like the gray dress and can see that one dressed up with a yellow belt and yellow scarf.

As long as the shop is outside The European Union, it will be taxed, unfortunately. But, what I mean to tell you, is that your colour palette is so different and thus inspiring. Danes tend to have a, how to put it… – almost Claire Underwoodesque sense of colour; black, grey, white, some blues and perhaps a few pastels and seing your rainbow of colours and the way you put it together, puts a little daring in me, so thank you!

And that skirt? I took a screen shot of it and placed in my "photo wish list". Some day, I'll find something similar. Inside the European Union, haha 🙂

Ohmigosh you're right–that skirt is the white version of the black one! I loved that black one when it was out, and I think I love the white one even more!

And thank you so much for your very kind words, Kimmie! But it's really because J.Crew doesn't fit me well. Haha kidding! Mostly. 😉 I've never been much into brand names for some reason. As long as it fits well, doesn't fall apart, and works for my lifestyle I'm happy with it, wherever it came from. But perhaps my standard of quality would go up if I changed to a less casual job or if someone offloaded a bunch of very quality items to me from higher end stores. Then my eyes would be opened, my life would be ruined, and I wouldn't be able to go back. For now…ignorance is bliss. 🙂

Haha that is one thing I'm worried about! At the same time, it doesn't matter because I won't see those bloggers in real life. But it makes me wonder if people in real life will be wearing it too–THAT I would not be okay with!

Thank you Audrey for this blog! I recently discovered it and it has helped me tremendously. I love the way you combine pieces for multiple outfits! Knowing how to combine pieces has been my biggest struggle. Armed with my new knowledge, I feel able to combine colors and textures to reflect my own style, I LOVE your fashion sense. I've tried learning from other fashion bloggers, but you, YOU are my favorite by far! I feel like you organize the overwhelming amount of fashion clothing into ways that make sense, outfits that are actually comfortable, that anyone might wear, and are so pretty! Thank you so much! It has inspired and changed my life! I look forward to your new posts, as I have read all your old ones! : )

I got the striped skirt, and the jacket, and the jacket, and the floral strapless! Ha! I bet you set off a wave at Target. I almost got the flowered pencil skirt but decided the striped one would be enough for now, and I was so sad I couldn't find number 11. But I am so so excited to wear my cognac jacket. I didn't realize ho bad my closet was missing one until I ordered it and started looking at all of the ways I can wear it. It is going to make such a difference! Thank you!!
