Shopping Help: Outerwear

Curious…how many coats do you own?
It’s only in the 50’s and 60’s here, though it’s pouring here today which I actually love!  Pouring seldom happens in San Diego.  Anyway, I’ve rounded up a few coats today in case anyone is in the market.
All are from Target or Forever 21 and under $50, with the exception of one.  ($52.90)

These are probably not great for harsh weather, though.  For that type of coat I’d go up to the $100-$200 range!  (However, the one coat I wore during several weekends in Chicago in the winter was a long down puffer that I got at Costco, of all places, for only $25!  It’s super warm without being bulky, and there was no price tag on it and it was the only one of its kind, so they rang it up as the cheaper, shorter, non-down alternative that was the only similar coat in the store.  Total score!)
Long Wool Coats:  Option 1  |  Option 2  |  Option 3
I know that if you have a real winter (unlike ours here!) then material matters.  These are all wool.  Option 2 comes in black, and Option 3 comes in 4 colors.

Long Coats:  Option 4  |  Option 5  |  Option 6
Other long coats that aren’t necessarily wool.  Option 4 is a trench.  Option 5 has some nice trim details, like faux leather along the zippers and sleeves that are different material than the body.  Plus a hood and zippered pockets!  I love utility in a coat too.

Mid-Length Toggle:  Option 7  |  Option 8  |  Option 9
I LOVE toggle coats!!!  They remind me of Paddington Bear, who is always cozy looking and totally squishable.  All three options come in four colors, mostly neutrals.  I really like #7 and #8 in taupe!  And #9 looks great in both oatmeal and grey.

Puffer:  Option 10  |  Option 11  |  Option 12

And then of course who doesn’t love bundling up in a cozy puffer jacket?  Option 10 comes in three colors, including a daring bright yellow.  Option 12 is a longer puffer coat that also comes in navy and white.

Okay now really, how many coats do you own?

I have 6.  A green hooded coat that I wish had toggle buttons, a navy toggle coat, navy military inspired coat, an anorak jacket, a puffier heathered jacket, and a long white puffer coat that I reserve for legit cold weather.  I’ve always wanted a trench but haven’t been able to justify purchasing one living here.

I really want to know what people in other areas own!
