Scarves and Blazers

Lauren from Stylized Existence recently posted outfit ideas with stripes and blazers which reminded me of Kendi’s outfit with the cobalt blazer and yellow flats.  Kendi had a cool scarf that made for some great pattern mixing, though.  (I’ve gotta get a cool graphic print scarf.)  I showed this outfit two ways because I would have LOVED to have worn it with a chunky neutral scarf, but it was too darn warm over here.  I don’t know about you, but I totally love thick, chunky scarves with blazers!  Anyone else feel me?

I have a similar situation going on. Mine is past my shoulders. I was going to go to "bra strap" length, but called my stylist yesterday telling her I need an inch off. Guess I found my perfect length so I'm sticking with it. Good luck!

Well, ultimately, it's your hair and your choice. 🙂

But you did ask for opinions so I'll chime in. And I'll be nice, I promise! 🙂 Personally, I think the length it is right now is really nice on you. It's long enough to do lots of fun things with, and it frames your face nicely. If you decide to go longer, definitely visit a good hair stylist. A good style with long hair makes a huge difference.

I've had my hair pretty short for a while, but I'm growing it out for a friend's wedding right now. I still visit my stylist every 6 to 8 weeks to get the cut shaped up, because my hair is really thick and grows out of a style that fast! After the wedding, who know, maybe I'll leave it long or maybe I'll chop it off. We'll see! I'm pretty open. I've learned not to get too attached to a hairstyle. My hair has changed over the past several years, especially as I've had babies. Weird how that happens.

I just chopped a good bit of hair off a few months ago, and it's currently about the same length as yours.

I had the same dilemma. When it's long, I HAVE to style it or it just hangs their lifelessly and looks so.. blah. So I'm going to stick with it shorter!

Also, I think your hair looks great right now. 🙂

Maybe add a little section to your weekly (or bi-weekly) blog posts about doing something with your hair—even if it's just curled for something different or *gasp* curled AND pulled half back with a clip
Just an idea 🙂 Workin' your closet, why not work your every-day accessory?

I just cut 7 inches off mine. It was under my bra strap! I never did anything with it. It was my shield. Sometimes I bobby pinned each side back or made two tiny braids to get the hair from in front of my face, and when it was dirty it always went in a blogger bun, but other than that just a side braid. I finally cut it off (it's about your length) and I still don't do anything to it but it looks healthier and shinier, etc. I will grow it out again but this time I'm going to learn how to actually do my own hair!

I love this cut on you. You can braid it, bun it, wave it, curl it. Or leave it pretty and straight like it is now. Endless possibilities!

I'm in the middle of growing my hair out too. I have a lot of hair so once it gets long, it gets heavy. And I feel like it just kind of hangs. I want to grow it just a bit more until the short layers are past my shoulders, but I agree that the length my hair is at now is fun because I can do a lot of stuff with it. And love the skirt with the boots!

    1) Though I've never seen your hair long, this length is very flattering on you. I constantly debate growing my hair long again. Problem was, I never did much with it. I was always putting it up and that got redundant. But that's me. 2) I LOVE everything about this outfit! I'm only 2 weeks postpartum, so I'm not ready to buy or wear a skirt like this, but I hope I can at some point!

This is such a cute look! And oh, I don't know. I am faced with the opposite dilemma i'm afraid, haha. I need to get a good cut, but am not sure about it. xo

I'm currently growing my hair out too – from a former pixie to hopefully the middle of my back again. When I previously had it long, like you, I didn't do much to it but I feel like now with blogs and Pinterest there are a lot more ideas out there that I'd love to try – so many great tutorials! I don't think I'll keep it long forever but since I don't like to dye it it's nice to have some other variation. My husband is growing his out to donate and so when the time comes to go short again I'll probably do the same – it's such an easy way give back.

Hmm… I'm growing my hair out too, and it's about the same length as yours.' I don't want to stop now, because my fluffy crazy hair still looks wider than longer. You lovely straight-haired people can wear it about any length and it looks chic. So I'd say go with what makes you happy. 🙂 It does look great at this length.

Definitely agree on both the blog/Pinterest ideas and about donating it. I chopped my hair off twice to donate, but both times my hair was so long that I still had hair to my shoulder blades after chopping off 10 inches! If I grew it out again just to play with, I imagine I'd be done after a few months and donate again.

I think.. I want to see you with long hair!! Please share a photo! 🙂 I think your hair looks great now, but maybe just keep letting it grow until you don't like it any more? I would LOVE to have long hair, but for one, my hair grows super slow and is currently a pixie, so it would take me FOREVER to grow it out… and two, the reason I have it short is because it just looks stringy and lifeless when it's long, or really at any length other than pixie… Annnnyways, I think you'll look great no matter what! 🙂

I really like it at the length it is now. I think long hair can look so blah. I have not had long hair since college and do not think I would ever grow it out. I, too, like it when I can pull it back and do a few things. It looks great now on you!

I love medium to long hair I feel like it gives me lots of options, but sometimes I wish I had short hair to save me some time
