REVIEWS: More Affordable Spring Pieces from Amazon, Old Navy, and Target

Casual Spring Outfits with Leopard Sneakers and Leopard Leather Earrings

I’ve done more shopping to put together my mini early spring wardrobe I shared a few weeks ago.  I’m happy to say I’ve found some good stuff and it’s coming together!  Today I’m reviewing some very affordable spring pieces from Old Navy, Amazon, and Target.

Fair warning, my mini early spring wardrobe is unapologetically pink and white. 😜 If you’re not into those colors, the good news is that many of these pieces come in several colors!

SIZING INFO: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.  I’m also 23 weeks pregnant in these pics.

Amor Tee – size M
I wanted a white tee with a minimal type of graphic or writing like this.  I kept wondering if I could just use a plain white tee instead, but the graphic really adds some nice visual interest.

This tee is good/fine, to be honest.  Haha!  For starters, I really like what it does for outfits–gives them visual interest with a minimal design that’s versatile.  As far as quality or style, it’s fine.  I like that it’s a fairly bright white, as opposed to cream or something.  It’s somewhat sheer. What I don’t love is something about the collar that I can’t quite pinpoint.  Maybe it’s how high the neckline comes up, the fact that it’s a brighter white than the rest of the shirt, or both.  Also, the sleeves are a tad long or wide or something.  Again, can’t quite put a finger on it.  I’d roll the sleeves a little, but unfortunately they’re too loose to stay.

I’m missing the half-tuck with a pregnant belly, but knotting it suffices AND makes the top a lot cuter!  The top is not long enough to accommodate my belly for much longer.

Overall, I really like what it does for outfits, and it looks better when knotted.  But realistically, I don’t know how long I’d be able to wear it as my belly grows.  However, I haven’t found other white tees with graphics I like.  It’s not a piece I’d build a long-term wardrobe on.  But it is one of those pieces I might rotate in for just this one season.

See the tee HERE.  There’s another similar one that feels and fits exactly the same, but says “Make it Happen” instead.  Find that HERE.

GIVON Hoodie from Amazon – size M in color Orange
This sweatshirt is very thin, but it is VERY soft and comfy.  The color is orangey-coral, and a *tad* bright for me in person.  But, it comes in 30 colors so there are plenty others to try!

I was hoping to wear this in casual looks with jeans.  It kind of works for that, but it feels better for loungewear or athleisure.  I won’t be keeping this one because I like one from Old Navy better (reviewed below).  But I’m keeping this in mind if I need a sweatshirt athleisure or loungewear.  It’s so soft and comfy!  Check out all the colors HERE.  I’m wearing size M.

Casual Spring Outfit: white graphic tee + long tan and grey color block cardigan + dark skinny jeans + leopard slip-on sneakers + leopard leather earrings

Lovaru Color Block Cardigan – size S in color z-Khaki
I believe this is the cardigan I linked in the mini early spring wardrobe.  It’s a lighter weight but has a tighter knit so it’s a tad warmer than other lightweight cardigans.  Also, it’s really, really soft!  Head up though, it doesn’t have pockets.

From the product image, I thought it’d be more pinkish on top, but it’s definitely a mocha type of color.  I was hoping for pink, so that led me to exploring other options, one of which is reviewed below.  Based on color alone, I won’t be keeping this.  But also, there’s more material than I want around the torso.  I’d prefer it to be a little more open.  Perhaps I need to size down even more on this? 🤷🏻‍♀️

That said, it’s really soft and feels pretty nice!  If you want a cardigan that covers more of your torso, check this one out.  It comes in 14 colors/prints HERE!

CARDYDONY Colorblock Cardigan – size S in color 04-Light Pink
I saw that this cardigan by a different brand came in pink, so I tried this too.  It’s indeed pink, first of all!  Yay!  😛  I also ended up liking the fit much more.  It skims my torso better and is more open.  This one’s the winner!  It’s lighter weight with a tighter knit so it’s pretty warm for something more lightweight, just like the one above.  And, it’s super soft!  This comes in 14 colors/prints HERE!

Good Vibes T-Shirt – showing size S and M
I’d been eyeing a tee like this and planned to wear it with my tan cardigan, utility jacket, and white jeans + denim jacket.  This one is very soft and stretchy.  Super comfy!  Though be warned, it comes with a strange, strong smell out of the packaging.

I’m torn between sizes.  The S fits me well in the shoulders and torso, but what I really want to know is if there’s enough room to drape well and front tuck once I’m no longer pregnant.  Super hard to tell with a 23 week belly.  🙁  I’m confident the M would do the trick, but the shoulders are a liiiittle large for me, and I’m wondering if that’ll look too big once the bump is gone.

Last thing to note: While the material feels good, I’m wondering if the graphic still stay once washed or peel off.  It already has that peeled-off, worn type of look…so will it peel more once washed?  Just something to look out for if you’re considering it!  Find it HERE.

Old Navy Sweatshirt – sizes S (coral) and M (white)
In my reviews last month I reviewed an oatmeal colored sweatshirt that I’ve been wearing nonstop.  I went in store recently and they were on sale, so I picked up two more!  😀  They are  thin to medium weight (but not as thin as the hooded Amazon one above), and the inside feels like a terry cloth rather than the soft fuzzy stuff.  I’ve been wearing them with a thin HEATTECH layer, and they’ve been great for some of our chillier days.  Above I’m wearing Peachy Treat and Creme de la Creme.  One note, different colors have different levels of softness on the outside.

For sizing…goodness, Old Navy’s sizing is SO inconsistent!  I wear M in the oatmeal one I got last month.  Here, I’m wearing M in the white one, but S in the coral one.  They are the exact same size when laid flat.  When I tired the coral one in M, it was HUGE.  Anyway, I’d recommend buying a couple of sizes and seeing which is best.  Old Navy offers free return shipping on all orders which makes it easy to return.

This comes in 5 colors HERE.  It’s currently ON SALE for 30% off until 3/15.  I wouldn’t pay full price for this, but heck yes on sale!  The oatmeal one from last month comes in more colors and prints HERE.  BTW, for the printed ones, the camo, Good Vibes, and some of the dip dye ones are thicker and have a soft, fuzzy inside.

Old Navy Long Line Cardigan – size S
I had a similar pink cardigan, but after doing FASTer Way to Fat Loss it was too big for me and I needed a new one.

This is a typical Old Navy cardigan, and I like the fit.  It doesn’t add too much bulk, including around the hips with the pockets.  It’s a lighter weight with a more open knit than the Amazon ones.  Good, inexpensive cardigan.  This is also ON SALE for 30% off until 3/15.  Comes in regular, petite, and tall and 6 GREAT spring neutral-ish colors HERE.
