This was inspired by an outfit I put together for the PMT Style Challenge, which has been sooooo fun, but ends today.  :*(   The original outfit I provided for the challenge was a colored printed dress with a tan blazer, but someone in the PMT Style Challenge Facebook group said they were switching the blazer out for a tan faux leather jacket, and that’s when the lightbulb went off for me.  Duh!  I don’t know why I didn’t think of that.  And thanks to the great minds and all the ideas floating around in the Facebook group I wore this super comfy outfit that I totally love!
(The PMT Style Challenge Facebook group is for the members of the PMT Style Challenge.  This current challenge is now over, but there will likely be another in the future!  If you want to join the fun, you can read more about it HEREHERE and HERE.)

Someone asked if I could give more reasons for how I put together my outfits, like why I choose certain accessories or pairings, etc.  I thought that might be helpful for some people, so if you’re interested here goes.  Like I said before, I started out with an outfit map of a printed dress with a tan blazer from the PMT Style Challenge and swapped the blazer for this tan jacket.  For shoes, I usually don’t like wearing this jacket with my cognac riding boots because it becomes a little too much brown leather pieces all together, and I’d rather have them at least be different material if they’re the same color.  So, I knew I had to wear booties and tights.  I opted for my fleece lined tights to stay warmer, which I only have in black, and preferred to keep my whole leg line streamline which meant using black booties instead of another color.  Lastly, the outfit needed a focal point and something to “ground” the outfit (as InStyle Magazine often says), so I topped it all off with this brass pendant.  Those decisions really only happen within the span of a minute, but there it is all laid out!

Lastly, this was one of the last outfit pics I took with my old tan jacket before it totally ripped and died.  (So sad!)  If you missed it, I reviewed a few HERE.
