Blush Cardigan Outfits for Spring

Blush Cardigan Outfits for Spring

Light pink or blush has become a favorite color of mine for spring!  (Or year round.  Who are we kidding?)  I never thought I’d say that because up until I finally got into blush a year or two ago (can’t keep track now!) I was into very bold colors and didn’t think I could do the softer ones.  And although I’m excited about bold colors again for this spring, that doesn’t mean I’m leaving blush behind!

A couple weeks ago I showed this blush cardigan on Facebook (HERE), and since I love it so much I thought I’d do a little remix with it.  It’s reallyyyyy soft and ON SALE!  Don’t be fooled–the title says “fleece,” but it’s pretty thin, yet cozy, and lightweight and definitely appropriate for spring.   It sold out within a week or so since I posted on Facebook, came back in stock over the weekend, and is now out in several sizes but still available in some HERE.  Comes in 5 colors if this lighter pink isn’t good for you.  Also, if you’re looking for a different pink/blush or this one is sold out in your size, there are more pink cardigan options at the bottom of this post.

SIZING FOR CARDIGAN: I’m 5’6″ and usually 6 on top or S/M and I sized way down to XS in this and it’s STILL roomy!  And that’s me saying that at 33 weeks pregnant with whatever extra pregnancy weight I’m carrying as well.  So, SIZE DOWN in this cardigan, for sure!  Maybe even two sizes.

HEADS UP: I’ve worn it tons of times and it does get a bit fuzzy.  Not pilling or anything, but just fuzzy.

Alright, onto ways to wear it!

Pink With Neutrals // Everyday Casual
For this casual everyday look, I used a suuuuper easy combo of white + grey + blush.  White and grey are neutrals, which is what makes this combo so easy.  I do it another time with white jeans, a blush top, and a grey cardigan HERE.  If you need a place to start with how to wear blush, try throwing on anything grey and anything white and you’ll probably be good to go!

Prints with Pink // Business Casual Outfit (or put-together casual with olive jeans instead)
I often say that one easy way to work with colors is to start with a printed piece–a top, dress, or skirt, etc.–and pull out colors from the print to incorporate into the rest of the outfit.  This top has pink flowers in it with green leaves, so the blush cardigan easily echoed the pink from the top, and olive pants was an easy pairing.  I kept the rest of the outfit neutral with nude flats, a gold necklace, and grey bag.

BTW, I LOVE blush and olive together!  Olive is a pseudo-neutral which means it goes with almost anything, but sometimes it looks so much more interesting than standard neutrals.  Another example of me wearing blush + olive is HERE.

Also, these pants are the maternity version of the cult favorite business casual pixie pants from Old Navy.  I haven’t tried the non-maternity ones yet, but given how comfy the maternity version is, I’m very interested to try the regular ones now!  I had to go down to size 4 in the maternity pants as they did stretch out a bit after a couple hours.  In my regular size 6 they would have been saggy after stretching, but at size 4 they are fine after stretching.  See the non-maternity version HERE.

Bookending // Dressy Casual
Next up is an outfit with the same top half as the previous outfit.  This dressy casual look is bookended with blush.  Bookending is another easy way to incorporate color into outfits by using the same color somewhere on your top half and somewhere on your lower half.  The top half could include a cardigan, necklace, earrings, or a belt, and the bottom half could be shoes, leggings, or pants.  On the top half I’m wearing the blush cardigan and on the bottom half I have blush lace up flats.

Lastly, I LOVE how fresh white jeans lighten up the whole outfit to make it pop!

BTW about white jeans.  I get tons of questions about how to keep white jeans white.  A while back I wrote a post about that HERE!  It needs to update it though, because Old Navy has since come out with Clean Slate white jeans that supposedly repel even red wine.  I haven’t had the guts to test it to the level of red wine, but I know that water rolls off of them so there does seems to be some sort of protectant on them.  See them and read their product description HERE.

Leggings + Sneakers // Athleisure & Weekending
Again, I took the same top half as the previous outfit, and switched out black jeans for leggings and flats for sneakers for an athleisure look.  An oversized cardigan like this is great for athleisure, and this will be a go-to outfit for me on springy weekends, especially with these white sneakers! ?
