5 Outfits With Red Flats for Spring + 9 Affordable Red Flats

5 Outfits With Red Flats for Spring

One thing I super love about spring style is getting to wear colored flats!  You all know my go-to color these days is yellow, but long before that it was red. If you scroll back through my archives you’ll see tons of outfits with red flats!  And thanks to recently adding these red flats from Amazon to my closet, today I want to show you five outfits with red flats!

5 Outfits with Red Flats for Spring

There are tons of red flats out there, but in case you’re curious about mine, lemme tell ya for a sec. These are the same as the yellow flats I wear all the time, just in red. They are very affordable at under $28, and for that price point I think they’re decently comfy!  There is no cushion (can’t expect much from cheaper flats) but, unlike flats at comparable prices from Target or Old Navy, the upper around your foot does not feel like stiff cardboard. Rather, it feels fairly soft and flexible.

One note, I have these in 3 colors and all of them are soft. However, my friend said the pairs she received were stiff around the heels. That was puzzling, so I had her feel the backs of all of my pairs and she said mine were definitely softer than hers—even the pair I haven’t worn as much and hasn’t been broken in. I don’t know if the material has changed, but apologies in advance if that’s the case. Order one of the colors/sizes that offers free shipping and returns with Amazon Prime to see. If you like them, return them and reorder in the color/size you want.

I’m usually 8.5 to 9 in shoes with mildly wider feet. These run on the wide side. The width on these is perfect for me when I size up to 9. Stick with your normal size if you never have a problem with shoes being too narrow.  People with narrow feet have said their feet are swimming in these.  (I don’t have recs for flats for people with narrow feet, sorry!)  Find them in several colors HERE!

SIZING REFERENCE: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes, 8.5 to 9 in shoes.

All Neutrals, Specifically Black
First up are two with all neutrals from Part 1 of How to Incorporate Colors the Easy Way.  I think red is a fantastic color pop against black.  Black can be stark, and with red being so bright and full it provides a great balance and anchor to black.  Black and white with red are some of the easiest outfits with red flats you can make!

These are both business casual looks, but an easy casual outfit suggestion is black jeans + a black and white striped tee. You could also wear the dress outfit as a dressy casual look to church by exchanging the blazer for a denim jacket.

The dress is super comfy and stretchy, nursing friendly, and still available HERE. Wearing size S.

Red in the Print + Neutral
This is a rule from Part 2 of How to Incorporate Colors the Easy Way—pulling out color from the print.  There’s a bit of red in this top which makes it easy to incorporate red flats into the outfit. Totally works with regular blue jeans, but white jeans are wonderfully fresh for spring!

Use any top or bottoms like pants or a skirt that has red in it, then make the rest of your outfit neutral besides the shoes. Easy peasy!

Neutral Printed Skirt + Tee + Denim Jacket
I love pairing red flats with navy! (I love navy and yellow too! ?) Take a navy printed skirt and pair it with a white tee or pattern mix with a striped tee!  Top it off with a denim jacket, because denim jackets go with everything during spring.  😛  It’s a great neutral backdrop to make pop with colored shoes, and red works great!

I reviewed this skirt recently and it was definitely a keeper for me.  Fully lined, waistband that sits at your natural waist which makes it easier to tuck tops into and stay in place better.  Cute, springy skirt!  I’m wearing size 6.  Find it HERE.

Also, this is the striped tee from my recent blog post PMT March/April Favorites.  Only $8, super comfy, and goes with everything!  I sized up to M for a looser fit.  Find it HERE!

Olive + Denim Jacket
How fun is olive with a pop of red??  Wear this with a white tee or a striped tee!  Black or grey also work just as well.   I love doing this combo with white sneakers, but I also love the fun twist with red flats!

I reviewed these chinos a few weeks ago HERE. I still wish they had a liiittle more stretch, but I do really like them as a more casual, more relaxed, and lighter weight alternative to olive jeans.  Find them HERE. I wear size 6 and they only loosened a bit since initial wear and held shape pretty well through several wears.

The white tee and denim jacket were also in my PMT March/April Favorites.  Comfiest denim jacket I’ve ever worn, though pricey.  At least it’s pricey for good reason!  See it HERE.

Between all these outfits, it’s hard for me to choose a favorite!  But if I HAD TO choose, I’d say the last two because unlike the two business casual outfits, I can actually wear the last two the most with my lifestyle.  😛  Do you have a favorite?

If you’re not on board with red flats yet, what are you waiting for?  They make outfits so happy!  😀
