Ohhhh how I love yellow! I know a ton of people are scared of it and think they can’t wear it. I thought the exact same things until 7 years ago when I first started blogging which is crazy to think because it’s become a signature color for me! Turns out you’ve just gotta find the right undertones. Tons of women in the PMT Challenges were scared of yellow but have found a new love for it as well!
This golden yellow is a lot easier to wear than a more muted mustard yellow, and apparently it’s pretty popular this summer. I got this top about a month ago, and LOVE this color! My top has since sold out, but don’t worry. I’m seeing this color in a bunch of different stores, so I shared 6 of them at the bottom of this post!
And now, let’s talk about some ways to style a yellow top!
Dark Jeans + Cognac and Metallic Accents
Jeans are an obvious choice with almost any top, but to make this outfit pop I added cognac accessories and metallic earrings. Because the yellow is bolder and the jeans are darker, I felt the outfit needed a deeper shade like cognac as opposed to a very light tan to ground it. Had I worn jeans with a lighter wash I may have gone for lighter tan wedges instead.

Black Denim + Metallic Accessories
I mostly wear black jeans in the fall and winter, and actually when I tried this outfit with leopard flats, it really looked like an early fall outfit. But I can’t stress enough how much of a difference shoes make! Slide sandals are big this summer, and I have been loving these metallic slides. I traded them for the leopard flats I originally had on and instantly the outfit felt better suited for warmer weather!
I’ve been asked if these metallic slides are comfy. Yes! They’re not *the comfiest* shoes I own, but I’ve worn them a lot lately, including running several hours of errands last weekend. They’re decently priced at $35 HERE.

White + Turquoise
White and yellow is a no-brainer, since almost any top with white is a no-brainer! I added a pop of turquoise to give the outfit a little life and metallic sandals to polish it off with some shine.

Printed Skirt
This is one of my favorite outfits with this skirt. It goes so well with golden yellow! I bookended the outfit with yellow flats, but when I was putting together the outfit, the thing that really made it pop was actually the white necklace! It totally lifted the whole outfit.
This color would go endlessly with various printed skirts. It’d be beautiful with a multicolored striped skirt like THIS or a vibrant floral skirt like THIS.
