OOTD: Comfy Outfits of the Day for Spring

OOTD: Comfy Outfits of the Day for Spring

Here are the outfits of the day I’ve been showing on Instagram (@puttingmetogether) and Facebook!  I post outfits on both of those channels that never make it to this blog apart from these roundups.  But, often by the time I post them here the sales aren’t happening or the items have already sold out.  If you don’t currently follow on Instagram or Facebook, instead of waiting for these roundups and missing deals, you can see the outfits as they’re posted on the righthand sidebar of this blog if viewing on desktop, or down at the bottom under “Instagram Outfits” if you’re viewing on mobile.  If you click those images, you can shop the outfits!

SIZING INFO: I’m 5’6″ with a short torso and normally size S/M or 6/8.  Size 8.5 to 9 in shoes.

Cognac Jacket + Striped Tee + Skinnies + White sneakers

OH. MY. WORD.  If you’ve been following me for a while, you may remember how sad I was when my beloved tan faux leather jacket of 5+ years finally died on me.  (It was THE BEST Forever 21 purchase ever!)  For the last YEAR I’ve been searching for its perfect replacement, and you also may remember a shopping review post in which I reviewed several faux leather moto jackets (HERE), with nothing fitting the bill perfectly.  Well, the jacket you see in the picture above?  IT’S FINALLY *THE* ONE!

I wanted a jacket that was a lighter tan or cognac, as opposed to browner.  I wanted this exact classic style and silhouette.  I wanted it fitted throughout–arms, torso, shoulders.  And I wanted it to feel soft and flexible.  Someone shared this jacket in the PMT Challenges FB group (the private Facebook for those who do the PMT Challenges) and I am forever grateful because IT’S THE WINNER!  It’s more expensive than what I was hoping for, but given how long I’d been searching for one and how great this was, I didn’t hesitate.

SIZING: I’m wearing this in M, and I fit the measurements on the size chart exactly for size M.  That said, it *is* still on the snug side, but not too snug that it’s uncomfortable or necessary to size up.  But if you are between sizes or still unsure about sizing, buy two sizes and take advantage of the free return shipping!  (Verify their Return Policy HERE.)  You can find it HERE, though I posted it on social media last Friday, and it’s already sold out in M now.  If you are size S or L and are thinking about a jacket like this, I would encourage you to just get it just to try it, knowing free return shipping is available!

Lilac Activewear Tunic + Workout Leggings + SneakersWorkout Leggings + White Sneakers + Lilac Activewear Top

In one of my recent shopping review posts I reviewed this awesome thin sweatshirt tunic in a beige/grey, but I wanted to show you the prettyyyyy lavender one too!  If you missed it, these sweatshirts (which are NOT maternity) come in 5 colors and are currently on sale for $23!  I’m wearing it in size S (I think I was 28 or 29 weeks pregnant in this pic?) but you could size up for a relaxed, cool, slouchier look.

White Henley + Distressed Skinnies + White Sneakers + ToteWhite Henley + White Sneakers + Distressed Jeans + Tote

This henley is also not maternity, is pretty darn affordable, and is pretty great!  I’ve been wearing it on repeat lately because it’s stretchy and comfy.  It *is* somewhat see-through in white, so I’m wearing a camisole underneath.  Sizes are running out, so if it’s still available in your size, scoop it up while you can!  If you’re unsure, remember that Old Navy has free shipping (orders over $50) AND free return shipping (on any amount), so you can try it risk free.

Utility Jacket + Striped Tee + Gray Jeans + Booties

Here’s an outfit I wore in late January for that awkward winter to spring transition.  It felt like it should be winter (because hello, it was only January!) yet it was like 70 degrees or something where I live.  I stuck with darker colors but lighter fabrics and no layers underneath like I typically wear in the winter.

Jeans: Target Maternity (exact–size 6; similar NON-maternity

Maroon Cardigan + Skinnies + Maroon Blouse + Tote + Boots

If you still need winter looks, I really loved this one from the PMT Winter Challenge.  Several women said they were worried about wearing a top and cardigan that were so close in color to each other but ended up loving it!  I do it often, and usually what helps is using a top with a print to break up the colors a bit.

Camel Blazer + Yellow Blouse + skinnies + cognac tote + Nude pumps

I totally loved this outfit!  I bought this top months ago in the fall, but unfortunately it sold out so quickly–probably because it’s gorgeous!  I think this color might be available at various stores this spring though, because Old Navy already has several tops in that color HERE, HERE, and HERE.

Black Cotton Dress + Black Slip ons + Pendant Necklace + Oatmeal Cardigan

Turns out while I steer clear from body con dresses while I’m not pregnant, they are seriously flattering with a baby bump.  Given my love for the “pajama” swing dresses during fall/spring/summer (dresses that are so soft and stretchy and comfy that they feel like pajamas), I knew I needed to get a maternity version in short sleeves as soon as I could for the 3rd trimester.  It’s almost always on sale, and right now it’s only $19 HERE.

Shop for the Look:
Dress: Old Navy Maternity (exact maternity–size M; NON-maternity swing style; similar–more fitted)
Cardigan: Nordstrom (similar, similar)
Shoes: Zappos (exact–size 8.5)

Lots of comfy pieces for spring!  Are there any kinds of pieces you’re looking to add this spring?
