First of all, thank you for all the congrats on our news about expecting Baby #2! We are grateful to celebrate with yall! I’ve taken some notes on all your maternity jeans recs and will be looking into them. Thanks for that too!
Here’s what’s been happening lately on Instagram (@puttingmetogether) and Facebook. I post many outfits on Instagram and Facebook that never make it to the blog apart from these roundups, but often by the time I post them here the sales aren’t happening or the items are sold out. If you don’t currently follow on IG or FB, you can see the outfits as they’re posted (instead of waiting for these roundups) here on the blog over on the righthand sidebar. If you click those images, you can also shop the outfits–no need to sign up for @liketoknow.it!
SIZING INFO: I’m 5’6″ with a short torso, and normally size S/M or 6/8. Size 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
Whoever says that being put together isn’t comfortable has never met one of these dresses–what I like to call pajama dresses. They are soft, stretchy, and feel like something you could sleep in! I often try them in Tall sizing for more length. The Old Navy version I’m wearing is often on sale for under $20, but there is one on Amazon HERE in other colors that should be plenty long (around 38″) and only $14.99. And, the Amazon one has pockets!!
(The swing dress shape can be tricky on many body types, and you might need a dress with more structure. There are dresses of this same material with more seaming which should provide better support and definition. Dresses that feel like pajamas can come in all shapes, so find one that best fits you!)
I love pairing these dresses with statement necklaces, pendants, or scarves. One of those accessories totally elevates this dress that otherwise looks–and feels!–like a nightgown.

I’m a sucker for navy printed tops. The neutral base goes with a lot of different pieces while a subtle pattern gives the outfit more visual interest. Navy is one of my favorite pairings with maroon!

Bookend your whole outfit with black and make it pop with a bright color in the middle! My top is no longer available, but there are plenty of similar red plaid tops out there. One of which is HERE with great reviews at an affordable price.

Here’s a look for the office with red flats. A colored shoe is a very easy way to elevate an outfit of neutrals!

I was trying to dress up twist tees a bit with jeans that have a bit more interest (distressed knee and frayed hem) and lace up pointy toe flats. Simple outfit, but I really like it!

Told you I love navy with maroon, but adding yellow to the mix is my absolute favorite! This is one of my favorite outfits from the PMT Fall Outfit Challenge. It was too hot for me to wear the scarf, but I’m looking forward to repeating this outfit again when the weather is cool enough.

Normally I’d wear this with a cognac moto jacket, but I’m kinda really loving it with my grey one! My jacket is no longer available, but I linked to two similar ones below at varying price points.

I blogged about this already, but I just love this outfit so much that I’m showing it again. 😀 I bought this top last year as an option for a dressy casual Thanksgiving, and it’s back again this year! The body is fully lined from the collar bone down, just not the sleeves or shoulders. The lace goes all the way to the back, the hem has little fringe details, and overall it’s gorgeous!

This coat is another favorite from a few years ago that is back in stock. The color is an orangey-red. It’s much more red in person than appears on the product site, at least on my screens, truer to my picture here. You can click through all the customer pics wearing the coat to see the varying color depending on the lighting.
This coat is soooo cute with toggle buttons, but it’s really a zip up closure. It is *not* super warm (which is a definition I’d reserve for a down coat or super thick wool coat) though customers on ModCloth’s site are wearing it in the snow. Maybe I’m just a wimp! However, it is great for my climate, and when weather is cooler I can wear this with a sweater underneath.

The weather is finally getting out of the 80s this week, so perhaps more layers are in my future. Fingers crossed!
