If you’re in need of some outerwear options, today’s post is for you! Though temps only recently (finally!) dropped where I live, I know it’s been chillier for a while where a lot of you live. Today I’m partnering with Macy’s and ShopStyle to round up some outerwear options!

Today I’m sharing a roundup of outerwear options to check out during the sale, but before we do that, I want to highlight and review one that I tried personally.
SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
If you’re looking for a lightweight option, this North Face parka has SO many things going for it! It’s really flattering and water repellent! It’s fairly thin, but reviewers say it keeps you pretty warm. One person noted that it’d be good in 40-60 degree weather, while another said they wore it in 30-something degree weather and stayed warm. I was skeptical it’d very warm because of how thin it is, and to be honest, it didn’t feel that warm when I tried it on inside. I still haven’t gotten to test it in super cold weather, but I did wear it on a 48 degree evening with only a long sleeve tee underneath, and to my surprise, I stayed pretty warm! My advice would be just to make sure to test it out outside, not just an initial try-on indoors.
This parka has a flattering shape as well, with cinching at the waist to give you some shape and definition, in addition to an elastic drawstring to cinch it even more if you want. It hugs my hips nicely while standing, but is snug when I sit. However, that’s not a problem since it has a double zipper so that I can unzip the bottom a bit while sitting. It also has lined pockets and a hood. So many awesome features!
My hair is covering up the front logo on the left chest, but you can see where it is on the product site. In some colors the logo is more noticeable, but in the color I’m wearing, Pomegranate, the logo blends in.
Because this is lightweight and fairly thin, I imagine it’d pack well and be very easy to travel with! Also, it’s machine washable, which is also 🙌🏽!
I’m wearing size M, which I can wear over a sweater. If you’ve got curvier hips, one note is that size M is snug at my hips, though not too tight. I just don’t have a ton of extra room there.

I like that I can wear this jacket in a nicer elevated casual look like this with a sweater and tall boots as well as dress it down, which we’ll see next!

This jacket can easily be dressed down in an athleisure look with leggings and sneakers, and it’s long enough to cover me in the back. Because it’s lightweight, it’s really comfortable for being on-the-go and moving around a lot, like for errands or time at the park with kids.
If you’re looking for an affordable pair of leggings, these are made of VERY soft, smooth, comfy material! I wouldn’t wear these for activewear, but they are great for athleisure, paired under tunics, and for lounging around the house. They have pockets high on the side of the hips, which don’t add bulk to my thighs. They are also not see-through. The rise is somewhat between mid-rise and high-rise. It’s not super high, so if you’ve been looking for comfy leggings that don’t have a very high rise, check these out HERE!
