My Holiday Outfits – What I’m Actually Wearing + Last Minute Gifts

The holidays are quickly approaching, and today I’m sharing a few of the outfits that I plan to wear to some upcoming events. I’ve shared a lot of holiday outfit ideas for you during the last couple of months, but in case you’re wondering what I’ll personally be wearing, here are 5 of my holiday outfits! We don’t have anything super fancy to attend, so these are pretty low-key, but I hope they’re helpful to you nonetheless!

SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.

Christmas Lights w/ Friends // Hot Pot
We saw Christmas lights with friends, and this fair isle sweater that I recently showed you was warm and festive. Love it! It’s thick, cozy, and really warm! But it’s not heavy at all, so you can be warm while staying comfortable. I changed the booties to fuzzy high top sneaker booties instead for a more casual look and for walking around.

We’re also doing a hot-pot night with a few other families. It’s not really a Christmas-specific gathering, but it happens right around that time. I have no idea what outfit I’ll wear, but why not this one? 😊 The most important thing is that I need to wear Wit & Wisdom jeans so that I have an elastic waistband and can eat as much as I want without any restrictions from my waistband. 😂

Christmas Eve Service
This is the dressiest I’ll get during the holidays! I’m looking forward to dressing up for the Christmas Eve service at our church. I wore this outfit on a recent cruise that our family went on, but I freaking love it so much and knew I needed another opportunity to wear it.

I shared all of these items in the post “How to Level Up Holiday Outfits With Simple Ways to Dress Up”, but I hadn’t shown them all together. This combo is my favorite!

The top has a satiny finish that really makes it look dressy. Yet, it’s comfortable to wear, with a silky smooth feel and a flowy fit that doesn’t hug or squeeze you. Plus, the neckline is adjustable with a tie in the back, so I don’t feel suffocated at the neckline either. Find it HERE. I’m wearing size S.

For alternatives to a top like this, just find anything with a satiny finish, shine, metallic embellishments, or sequins. Just something shiny! That characteristic will dress things up and elevate the fancy factor.

These black flares are STRETCHY and comfortable, but don’t they dress up nicely? Flares make a fun statement! Wear these to the office to freshen up any of your tired black pants outfits, or dress them up for a nice event! Find them HERE. I wear size 6.

I finished off the look with pointed toe boots with a kitten heel. The kitten heel is low and easy to walk in, and the pointed toe sharpens up the look and adds polish. This boot also has a high shaft, which helps them fit more easily under narrower straight leg pants. (That’s not a problem here since these flares have a wide leg opening, but just wanted to note another plus-attribute of the boots!) Find the boots HERE. I wear size 9.

Christmas Day
Our Christmas Day plans involve staying at home with a houseful of kids (ours + cousins) and eating. It’s low-key so my outfit will be, too. Hence the slippers, haha!—it’s legitimately what I’ll be wearing.

I bought this red sweater during Cyber Week (mentioned in the post “10 Things I Actually Bought During Cyber Week”). I hardly have any red in my wardrobe that is not maroon. I’ve needed a red sweater to wear during Christmastime, the Lunar New Year (since the lucky color is red and it falls in January/February), and Valentine’s Day, which are all during sweater-weather. I might not always wear it during Christmas or Valentine’s Day, but I didn’t really have any red options for either of them!

I like that this color is a warmer red, which I feel works a lot better with my skin tone than most of the other reds—and that’s why I don’t have much red in my wardrobe! I’ll say that this sweater’s quality is not the best. After a couple of wears, it’s fuzzing quite a bit. But, it’s tolerable, at least for now. But I’m so in need of a red sweater, and a warm red like this has been hard to come by, so it is what it is.

Anyway, I’ll be wearing this for our low-key Christmas Day full of little children, decorating cookies and gingerbread houses, playing with toys, unwillingly playing hide-and-seek with said kids 😂, and eating. You can find the sweater HERE in sizes XS – 4X, as well as in tall and petite sizes.

While I wanted to make this outfit feel a little edgier with my favorite light washed distressed straight leg jeans from Gap, who am I kidding? For a full day at home with kids + eating, stretchy jeans, ultimate comfort, and the elastic waistband of my Wit & Wisdom jeans WINS EVERY TIME!

Topping it off with my moccasin slippers. Just got this pair by Clarks as a replacement. Find them HERE from Amazon. You can also get them HERE at Kohl’s. The picture on Kohl’s site represents the color better than Amazon’s pic. I’m wearing size 8 in Cognac.

The second picture with the fuzzy boots is what I’d wear if we go out. That’s a big “if,” though!

Christmas Gathering #2
We’ll have a second round of Christmas festivities the morning after Christmas, so I thinkkkkk I’ll wear this. Just an excuse to wear this comfy sweater. It’s lightweight but warm, and the sleeves dress it up a little. Find it in straight sizes HERE. Similar plus size option HERE. I’m wearing size S in Alpine Green.

Lunch Out for a Friend’s Birthday
Not holiday-related, but it’s happening during the holiday season. Gonna go out and celebrate our friend’s birthday shortly after Christmas, and this is what I’m thinking about wearing. It’s the same top from my Christmas Eve outfit above, paired with straight leg corduroys this time. Actually, everything is the same except for the pants—I’m wearing the same boots, too! They fit really well under these corduroys.

I love how the texture of corduroy adds a different dimension to outfits. Fun and easy way to change things up! These corduroys have STRETCH and are pretty comfortable. These are the same corduroys I featured in the recent post “Holiday Packing – 7 Pieces, 8 Outfits”. Very versatile! Find them HERE in sizes 24 to 35 and in regular, tall, and petite lengths. I’m wearing size 6/28 in Bright Brown.

Pants: Gap (exact—wearing size 6/28)

New Years Accessories headbands and party blowers

New Year’s Eve at Home!
I forgot to take a pic of me in an outfit with all this 😆. I bought these New Year accessories during Cyber Week just as a cute little thing for our kids as they ring in the New Year. We don’t have plans yet, so I’m imagining it being super low-key at home with some treats. I’ll probably wear the Christmas Day outfit above, but with the black version of the sweater instead of the red one. Even if we end up hanging out with friends for NYE, I’d still probably wear that outfit. Like I said, super low-key—just good time with family and friends. 😊 Find the New Year accessory set, HERE!

Andddd, those are my holiday outfits for this year! I hope this gave you some ideas for what to wear!
