SIZING: I’m 5’6” and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
1. Basic Solid Tee
First, we’ll start with the basics. If you happen to be looking for a great basic long sleeve tee, this one is very SOFT, very comfortable, and affordable! It’s so, so soft! I like that its fit is more relaxed instead of formfitting so that it doesn’t highlight all the bumps and lumps. A tee like this is great to wear under statement pieces, like the leopard print cardigan that so many of you fell in love with from one of my recent posts, or a plaid shirt jacket. These jeans are another great find from Sonoma Goods, which has become my go-to brand recommendation for jeans that are comfortable and very affordable. This pair comes in 15 washes, HERE. 2. Printed Long Sleeve Tee or Graphic Print Tee
Another option is a printed long sleeve tee, which will add more visual interest under wardrobe essentials like cardigans, vests, and other layering pieces. 3. Button Up
A plaid button up is a great option for a cold weather casual top that mixes it up from the other long sleeve casual tops above. They’re usually thicker than t-shirts, and they come in lots of colors and variations and can add a lot to your outfits. Some of them are stiffer and have a more polished and classic vibe while others have a more relaxed look. Choose a style that works for you!
The one I’m wearing above is soft and easy to wear. You can style it open to make it even more relaxed-looking, or you can button it up. 4. Fashion Top
Last is a “fashion top” which is a step up from a casual tee but not quite a blouse. They hit the sweet “tweener” spot of being nicer than a t-shirt without being dressy. And I really, really like this top in particular! It’s lightweight and drapes well, so it lays nicely when you front tuck it. I also love all the prints it comes in!
