These are my favorite kinds of skirts. While I like pencil skirts, I really, really love a-line skirts that are fitted high on the waist then float away from your body, especially in warmer months. I also like them for being on-the-go. Maybe it’s because I have big hips that get in the way, but with pencil skirts I often have to adjust them throughout the day after a lot of movement, but that’s not the case with these skirts! They’re easy to move in, and I’m not constantly adjusting them.
A fitted waist also means that you can tuck in tops. You can tuck in dressier short sleeved blouses, like the ones we talked about yesterday and button-ups (tucked in or tied over the skirt) to dress them up a little. But, last week I paired the skirt with a graphic tee and sandals for a lunch date with Benson and errands after. So easy to move in!
I found a bunch of cute patterned ones below, all but one are under $40, though many are under $30 with a current sale, and a couple are under $20 from Target and Old Navy.
LOFT Sale
And, while looking for skirts I saw that LOFT has a sale going on right now: $25 skirts and dresses. What they don’t tell you is that a bunch of other things are on sale too, and I didn’t even find out until I put the items in my shopping cart!
I ordered a pretty red dressy tee/top like the ones we talked about yesterday. LOFT says it’s on sale for $40, but when you put it in your cart it’s really $24! Awesome surprise!
I also got this tie waist dress that was about $35 after the sale.
Lastly, I got a knit circle skirt that’s a-line with a fitted waist, but it made of comfy stretchy material. I picked up the coral one (been looking for a coral skirt forever!) but it also comes in navy, black, forest green, and berry. After the $25 discount it came out to $24.50!
