Huge thanks to Nordstrom and ShopStyle Collective for sponsoring this post
This off-white or ecru or bone color (whatever we’re calling it these days 😆) is totally having a moment, and I’m totally here for it! I’ve said before that I have always loved how white jeans easily transform and “lift” outfits, and this off-white color has the same effect. But, I love that it’s creamier and warmer, and it hides dirt marks way better! 😄 These are my new favorite jeans, BTW. The color and the wider leg silhouette give it a modern feel that instantly updates all of your outfits! If you want a quick style update, getting a pair of jeans like this will do it! I showed them recently, and enough of you loved them that I’m back to share how to wear off-white jeans with four outfits, and I’m partnering with Nordstrom and ShopStyle Collective to do it!
Nordstrom is my favorite place to look for clothes that feel really good, and shopping there has honestly transformed my style! On top of that, Nordstrom has fantastic customer service! They offer free shipping and free return shipping on all orders which means you can order things and try them with peace of mind. You can also order online and utilize their in-store and curbside pickup. You can also earn points on your purchases towards Nordstrom Notes, get access to free alterations, and more if you’re part of the Nordy Club. It’s totally free to sign up! Learn all about it HERE.
These jeans are really comfortable, with medium-thick denim that helps you feel secure but also has a lot of stretch to keep you comfortable. On top of that, it has an elastic waistband that provides a forgiving fit and allows you to sit and move comfortably! These jeans actually come in three colors, which you can see HERE. I’m wearing size 4 in the color “Stone,” which is currently fully stocked in all sizes! (Heads up: the “Stone” color button might blend in with your screen and make it look like it’s not available, so look closely for it!) Note these jeans do stretch out a bit with wear, so start with them snug and plan for them to relax a bit.
SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
1. Nice Top + Flats
These jeans can be really casual or they can be dressed up in nicer casual outfits like this one. I love their versatility! Pair these jeans with a nicer casual top, like the green gauzy top I’m wearing here, to head to lunch or dinner with friends!
Since these jeans have more volume with the wide leg, and since the top also has more volume with the flutter sleeves and a pretty loose torso, I wanted to define my waist well by doing a full tuck all the way around. I then bloused it out just a tad all around so that it wasn’t super fitted and was slightly more relaxed. Find this top, HERE. It’s pretty soft and fairly lightweight, making it a great piece for the fall transition. I wear size XS.
Then, finish off the outfit with sandals, or pair them with flats like THESE. I own those, and they go with pretty much everything! I wear size 9.
2. Graphic Tee + Sneakers
I love how these jeans easily refresh the standard jeans + graphic tee combo. When you trade good old blue jeans for a pair of denim in a modern color, it quickly updates a tired combo!
I LOVE graphic tees by this brand, Sub_Urban Riot. This tee is pricey compared to what I normally pay for tees, but the material just feels so good! It’s honestly hard to describe in words how it’s different than other tees because it’s in the nuances of how it all feels. All I can say is that tee is so, so soft, and it drapes impeccably well. I absolutely love how it hangs, which is a very subtle but very important key to great, effortless style, and it’s why I often mention it when things have a good drape. I find the drape especially important with t-shirts! You can find this graphic tee HERE, and you can check out other tees by this brand HERE. I wear size M for a perfectly relaxed fit.
Top off the look with slip-on sneakers. If these jeans hit you at the proper spot, which should be roughly an inch above your ankle bone, then slip-on sneakers should work seamlessly!
3. Sweater + Booties
Once we get further into fall, pair these jeans with a sweater and booties! I chose a sweater that has a little volume at the sleeves to balance out the volume in the pants, and I made sure to define my waistline with a loose, front tuck. I love the looser fit and relaxed vibe of this sweater. While some reviewers found it a tad itchy, I never felt like the itch factor was high. Plus, now that I’ve had it for a bit, I can tell you it does soften up over time. It comes in 4 colors, HERE. I wear size S.
As for cold-weather shoes, pair these jeans with booties that have a shaft that is tall enough to fit under the pant legs. One great thing about these jeans is that the leg opening is wider, so it’s easier to fit booties underneath them as long as the shaft is tall enough. Some examples of booties with a taller shaft are this pair by Dr. Scholl’s and this pair by Marc Fisher (with a lower heel, too). Another option that might work is this waterproof pair by Blondo.
4. Statement Sweater
Last, go for a statement sweater in a fun color! This sweater has detail at the shoulders and puff sleeves to add more visual interest to the outfit, and the material is thick to keep you warmer as fall gets cooler. You could easily pair this sweater with slacks for work as well. It comes in 7 colors, several of which are saturated and fun like this royal blue! See them HERE. I wear size S.
