Recently, we talked about fall staples to build your wardrobe with, and today we’re talking about fun, “filler” pieces or add-ons that you can mix in with your staples to keep your wardrobe fresh. I’m partnering with Nordstrom and ShopStyle to do it!

SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
1. Sweaters With Interesting Silhouettes
Details like puffed shoulders and balloon sleeves update standard sweaters and add some style points! I LOVE this one with the hi/low hem and voluminous sleeves! It is SOOOO soft and cozy, but it’s lightweight and not heavy, so it’s very, very, very comfortable to wear. The material is so drapey that you can front-tuck the sweater easily without it sticking out awkwardly from the sideview, or you can leave it untucked and feature the hi/low hem.

2. Fresh White Sneakers
White sneakers aren’t novel, but they’re definitely more prominent these days! Go for low-profile sneakers for casual outfits or fresh white athletic sneakers for activewear and athleisure.
This pair is VERY comfy with its stretchy knit fabric. The tan from the sole peeks out to the front and from the sides, and I love the contrast it provides. I also love that I can slip these off without untying them because the fabric around the ankles and all over is sooo stretchy! (But no, they won’t slip off your feet while walking!) These totally freshen up outfits and will instantly update your old favorite casual and athleisure looks! Try them HERE. I wear size 9.

3. Color
Adding color is an easy way to shake up your wardrobe! Whether it’s bright, pale, muted, or on the softer side, it will add life to all your basics. For example, if a lot of your fall and winter activewear and athleisure is black and gray, a blue top like this one will “lift” outfits and revitalize your standard basics.
This top is VERY soft and comfy, BTW! It’s on the thinner side, so it’s definitely more of a shirt than a sweatshirt. You can wear it by itself for lounging around the house, or you can throw it on over an activewear tank as you head into a workout. It comes in 4 colors, HERE. I wear this in size S.
Also, I’m pairing it with my buttery soft pocket leggings. These are SO COMFORTABLE and feel unlike any standard leggings. If you’ve been eyeing them, you must try them on sale! I felt like they were worth it at full price, and they’re only $39.90 right now! FYI, they don’t offer as much compression or support as other Zella leggings, but they are super comfy. They have ribbed cuffs for a sportier vibe. They also have huge pockets which I felt widened my hips in the lighter colors but did not do so noticeably in the darker gray. Here, I’m wearing “Black” which really looks more like a dark gray. They also come in light gray and light blue. See them all HERE. I wear size S.

Speaking of colors, in particular, this red-orange color is a fall favorite and adds so much punch to an outfit! 🔥 Here, I’m showing the same amazingly soft, super comfy sweater from before, just in the gorgeous red-orange color. Isn’t it so fun? Unfortunately sizes are limited, but I’ve seen a few pop up here and there. See if your size is available, HERE. I wear size S.
OR, go for a subtle punch of orange with orange-red suede flats, like THESE! They’re the same flats I’m wearing above, but in the Dm Cayenne color. Very cute!
Not into orange? Go for a deep purple sweater like THIS (which is fully in stock)! This one is a medium thickness with a heavier weight. It runs on the shorter side, so wear it with high waisted pants. Also, IMO it looks best in a front-tuck, which gives it more shape and creates a more flattering fit. I wear it in size S.
Or, try a beautiful, bold magenta, like this v-neck sweater. This one is really, really soft. It’s on the thinner side, so it’s lightweight, but it’s still very cozy and comfy. 4. Straight Leg Jeans
Straight leg cuts are a great way to update your go-to outfit combos in a major way. In the outfits above, I mixed in straight leg jeans with my usual striped tee + long cardigan combo for a modified, refreshed look. (No, I’m not saying you have to give up skinny jeans. Don’t listen to Tik Tok! 😆 I’m just suggesting this as ONE of the styles you CAN wear that will refresh your outfits.)
There are some great pairs of straight leg jeans in this sale, in particular by my favorite brand of denim, Wit & Wisdom. The jeans from the Ab-Solution line are not only stretchy and comfy throughout the legs, they have stretchy waistbands for ultimate comfort!
My favorite pairs from this year’s sale are unfortunately low in stock, but hopefully you can catch one in your size! The light blue pair I’m wearing above might be my very favorite of this year’s sale. They are thicker than some of Wit & Wisdom’s super stretchy jeans, so you feel more secure in them. But, they are still very, very stretchy and have the stretchy waistband. Plus, the wash is fantastic! Try to catch them HERE. I wear these in size 4.
I also really, really like the black straight leg jeans. They are very soft and stretchy with the elastic waistband. Find them HERE. I wear size 6.

5. Short Pendant Necklace
Want to add a little polish and finishing touch to your outfit, but need a fuss-free option? A short pendant is your jam because it doesn’t get in the way when you bend over, carry things (or kids), or move around a lot. There are some good ones in the sale, and in particular, I’ve taken to this initial necklace. I like the size, and even though it’s not a huge statement necklace, it totally polishes off outfits (as you can see in all the pics in today’s post)!
At first, I thought this was too yellow and shiny—which it was, against my skin. But, when it’s against clothing like in any of the pics in today’s post, the yellow and shine were no longer issues. I really, really love what this necklace does for outfits! It’s on sale for just $29.90, though in the last couple of days a lot of the letters were snatched up! See if yours is available HERE.
A second short pendant option that is in stock is this “To the Moon and Back” circle pendant. It’s a simple style that appears to be a decent size, so it’ll go with a lot of things and still make an impact on your outfits!

6. Fun Sneakers
Another way to spice up outfits is by finishing them off with fun sneakers! These Dr. Scholl’s sneakers are really comfortable with a cushioned footbed as well as FUZZY LINING to keep your feet cozy when the weather cools!
