Fun, Bright Profesh

I just realized that this outfit is essentially this exact outfit from nearly a year ago, just with a different pencil skirt.  It’s still surprising to me how much one piece can change up a look!
I wore this to interview a potential hire for our organization.  Besides getting to interview cool people, one thing I always look forward to with interviews is having an excuse to deviate from my typical casual wear and pretend I work in an office or something.  Most people I talk to would love to dress in casual wear all the time, and it’s not that I don’t appreciate that I get to do that.  It’s just that there was a point in my life (and kinda still) where all I wanted to do was dress like I worked in a fancy schmancy, powerful office.  I wore dark colors all the time and looked really sharp, but I also looked really serious and out of context for my job and lifestyle.  Now I jump at any chance to dress remotely professional, but I’ve been learning to do it in a more upbeat way.  It’s kinda fun to think back on those days and see how far I’ve come–that I can put together a professional office-y type look that’s fun and bright!

(This skirt is almost sold out, and plus it runs really small.  I really, really like number four below as an alternative though I have no idea how its sizing is.)
