Fun, Bright Profesh

I just realized that this outfit is essentially this exact outfit from nearly a year ago, just with a different pencil skirt.  It’s still surprising to me how much one piece can change up a look!
I wore this to interview a potential hire for our organization.  Besides getting to interview cool people, one thing I always look forward to with interviews is having an excuse to deviate from my typical casual wear and pretend I work in an office or something.  Most people I talk to would love to dress in casual wear all the time, and it’s not that I don’t appreciate that I get to do that.  It’s just that there was a point in my life (and kinda still) where all I wanted to do was dress like I worked in a fancy schmancy, powerful office.  I wore dark colors all the time and looked really sharp, but I also looked really serious and out of context for my job and lifestyle.  Now I jump at any chance to dress remotely professional, but I’ve been learning to do it in a more upbeat way.  It’s kinda fun to think back on those days and see how far I’ve come–that I can put together a professional office-y type look that’s fun and bright!

(This skirt is almost sold out, and plus it runs really small.  I really, really like number four below as an alternative though I have no idea how its sizing is.)

Love this outfit and the colors Audrey! The skirts floral print is gorgeous. I agree, it's fun to dress up once in a while. I too, worked in a office setting for a few years where we have to dress very professional. It was fun for a while, but it got rather boring with all that black, navy and tan. 😉

Love all the colors on this skirt. You are wearing my work uniform….a pencil skirt with a top/cardi. I love floral skirts and how much color you can add to an outfit.

Love this outfit. Gorgeous and I really like the floral skirt even though I'm not that big into floral (i'm afraid of looking like a couch). Love this.

I love all these skirts, especially the one you are wearing! I usually wear a medium or a 4-6 in skirts. Do you think I would take a large if they run small? I am thinking about buying it.

I love the floral skirt! So cute! I wish that I could wear cute skirts to work, but I work in a lab so it is only long pants and close-toed shoes for me.

Love the skirt paired with the yellow! I think this would still be a nice office look since its bright and colorful, but not too serious for a casual office.

I noticed they were sold out! I am sure they will come back in stock. I found a bright colored skirt at Goodwill that I will try to recreate this look with.

Loving your professional looks. My office is going semi-professional/business casual very soon and I'm hoping I don't have to change up my entire style to make it work!

This is one of my all-time favorite looks of yours! So gorgeous. I'm in the same boat. We can wear jeans and a t-shirt, but I like to dress more professionally. Partly because it's more fun and feels better, but also because we live in an area where we're much younger than everyone else. I think it helps lend an air that I know what I'm talking about. Even if it doesn't, it helps me think so! 🙂
