Florals and Brights and Coordinating Accessories

Florals and brights will always be winners for spring, my friends.  For a long time I was against florals because I perceived them to be “too girly” or “too feminine” for me.  Then I realized that florals come in all shapes and sizes, and you can do florals in a way that is not that girly.  Tropical florals are a great example of that, like many of the ones below!
Sometimes I get asked about accessorizing and which shoes to wear and how to incorporate colors without looking crazy and stuff like that.  One easy thing to do is to 1) pull a color out of your top or one that contrasts your top, then 2) incorporate coordinating accessories.  Here I used cobalt, to pop against all that pink, then I bookended the look with a blue necklace and blue pumps (which I totally cannot get enough of!)  I think a lot of different colors could have worked here, like yellow, mint, and even pinks, reds, or purples, though that would have been a LOT of matching.

Floral prints are really helpful for this method because they usually have a lot of colors, which means it’s easy to choose one that will work with your outfit.  And it means it’ll go with a lot of different colors!
