Today my mid-thirties, straight, male supervisor who kind of acts like he has ADD interrupted himself from one conversation to turn to me and say, “Ooh, I really like your outfit! It looks Anthropologie-esque…” To which I replied, “Thanks! This is actually the first thing I ever bought from Anthropologie.” He let out a victory fist pump and proudly gave himself props for hitting the nail on the head…then he contemplated quitting his job to become a stylist.
For my first 30 for 30 outfit I decided to break in my first purchase ever from Anthropologie (besides gifts for other people). I actually hadn’t shopped at Anthro until I started reading style blogs, which was only a few months ago. I’ve always liked Anthro’s stuff but I always thought it was out of my league. But, I’m venturing out now, trying new things, and letting my style evolve. It can be little scary sometimes, but it’s also really fun. 🙂
