Fall Outfits With a Striped Tee + Lots of Striped Tee Options

Fall Striped Tee Outfits

Long Sleeved Striped Tee Outfits

When I first started building a remixable wardrobe years ago, I thought striped tees were pointless.  A waste of money, I thought.  My, my, how times have changed!  You all know that my love for striped tees now runs deep!  Striped tees are my most worn, most versatile pieces.  They are as comfy and easy to throw on as a plain t-shirt, but they provide more visual interest.  Today I’m sharing a few fall outfits with a striped tee!

Just a heads up, these outfits are mostly a roundup of pics I’ve used in other posts, so there’s not a TON of variation between each outfit.  Just happens to be whatever I’ve shared in the past post.  That said, you CAN switch these up much more by:

  • changing the booties to either boots or slip-on sneakers
  • adding scarves and other accessories
  • switching the jeans to other colors like maroon or olive

Striped Tee Options

In case you’re interested, I once wrote about What I Look For In Striped Tees, sharing how I make sure to get the perfect one each time.  If you’ve tried striped tees in the past but just couldn’t get them to look how you wanted, check out the post HERE.

If you’re in search of a long sleeved striped tee for fall, I included some in the widget below.  There is currently one from JCPenney that is very affordable with a great drape and comfy fabric HERE.  I wear it in size S.

SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes, 8.5 to 9 in shoes.

Outfit #1a: Jeans + Cardigan + Boots or Booties
When it’s cooler and I need to get dressed quickly, this is one of my default outfit combos.  You can do this with white slip on sneakers if you need to be comfier and more active, or dress it up a tad with booties.

These booties have that dip in the front that I always talk about.  It’s super helpful in elongating your leg line since you don’t have to roll your jeans up as high to show a peep of your ankles.  These have a higher heel, but they don’t feel nearly as high as they are on paper.  They are in the mid-tier price range under $60, so while they don’t feel as exquisite as $80+ pairs of boots, they feel and look MUCH, MUCH better than $30-$40 pairs.  They come in black, cognac, and taupe HERE.  I’m wearing size 9.

Outfit #2: Utility Jacket + Jeans + Boots or Booties
This is another one of my most-worn looks with a striped tee–with a utility jacket.  I usually do this with white slip-on sneakers, and that outfit serves as my go-to mom-on-the-go outfit.  It’s the first thing I reach for when I’m heading to the park or errands with kids.  I love utility jackets when I’m with kids because they are more durable for grubby, grabby little hands. 😜 And, the huge pockets give me a place to put my phone and hold everything my kids collect, allowing me to be handsfree.

The key to being comfortable in a utility jacket when you have to do a lot of movement is finding one that is soft and flexible with some stretch.  I’m wearing one from JCPenney above, which is pretty decent for that, and it’s a really great length for petites OR if you want a more fitted looking one.  See that HERE.  Another option that has good stretch is at Old Navy HERE.

You could totally do this with blue jeans, but I love the little twist black jeans provides!

Outfit #3: Utility Vest + Jeans + Boots or Booties
Here are two versions of this outfit formula.  A utility vest is a slight variation from Outfit #2, but one worth mentioning!  You get the same benefits as a utility jacket, like the bigger pockets and durability with kids, but your arms get a little more freedom.  Plus, a vest is a cooler layer when weather is warmer.

The second pic shows the same combo, but with boots and a mustard scarf on top.  You can add any color scarf to make it pop!

Outfit #4: Quilted or Puffer Vest + Jeans + Boots or Booties
Instead of a utility vest, how about a puffer vest or quilted vest?  This outfit also works well with either booties or sneakers.  Try a white vest with black jeans, or go for a colorful vest like hunter green, red, or maroon.  The striped tee and black jeans create a streamline backdrop for you to wear any pop of color!

Outfit #5: Pullover Sweater + Jeans + Boots or Booties
Three years ago I saw someone layer a striped sleeve tee under her pullover sweater, and thought it was GENIUS!  I’d totally give them a shoutout, but it was so long ago and so many people do it that I don’t remember who I first saw it from.  Anyway, I love it!  I love that it gives me another layer when it’s truly cold, plus it gives the outfit that extra oomph to really pop!

Check out other ways I’ve done it HERE and HERE (w/ a vest layered over the whole thing).

To let the stripes peek out, cuff the striped sleeves over the sleeves of the sweater.  Then, if your sweater is short enough or if your striped tee is long enough, you can also let it peek out from below.  I’ve done this with pullover sweaters, but in the outfit above I did it with the twisted fleece that I’ve told you about a million times.  The little knot provides the perfect natural peekaboo spot for your striped tee!
