Fall Layers + How to Roll Up Layered Sleeves

Navy Gingham Fall Outfit
Any day I can layer is a good fall day!  I showed this outfit in the Instagram roundup over the weekend (HERE), but here is the head to toe version.  I wore this in the mountains for a work retreat early last week.  I’m pretty committed to this navy gingham button up for any trip in the fall or winter.  You can see it in a few outfits in my last year’s Thanksgiving packing list (10 Pieces 15 Outfits) as well as HERE for some more.  It’s on the thinner side for gingham tops, as opposed to the thicker and stiffer ones I’ve tried, and I prefer the flexibility and movement of this thinner one.  It’s constantly in stock year round (YESSSSSS!) and available right now and on sale HERE.  I’m normally S/M or 6/8 on top and wear this in S, as it runs slightly large IMO.
I’ve said before that I used to have a hard time with pullover sweaters looking weird on me, but I finally figured out what works for me: looser fit and crewneck over v-neck.  I totally love this one and got it in two colors!  It’s not that thick, which maybe isn’t great for many of you but is good for me being in a warmer climate.  And I love that it’s textured to make the outfit more interesting.  Wearing M.  See it in more colors HERE.
I sometimes get questions about how to roll up sleeves on cardigans or sweaters + button ups so that the sleeves don’t look bulky.  I wrote a post back in 2013 on that, so go HERE if you want some help!
Also, for anyone asking about the comfort of these Target booties, I finally wore them for an extended period–up and down hills in the mountains no less!  Was it risky and dumb because they have a heel?  Yes.  But I did it because of the reasons I said I would in my ankle boots comparison post HERE (possible rain and getting scuffed in rougher terrain–didn’t want to ruin my nicer Clarks pair HERE).  I anticipated my feet hurting and needing to tough it out any day I wore them, and tough it out I did!  The sole felt fine thanks to my AirPufs, but my toes were sore from being squished.  My toes are already prone to getting squished in many heels, but heels + downhill inclines in the mountains had me longing for my flat tan Clarks booties.  At least I was smart enough to bring my white sneakers too!  ðŸ™‚
