Evolving

I thought it was funny how Kendi wrote yesterday about wearing the exact same outfit two days in a row because that’s precisely what I did with this one.  Except, the second time I paired this with my orange pumps instead of these red flats.
I was originally going for a look like this but my white tee wasn’t working out.  Sometimes when I try to recreate an outfit and feel like something’s not quite right I will scrap it altogether.  But lately I’ve been trying to look for other pieces that will work better and help the outfit evolve into its own thing instead of scrapping it.  In this case, it was taking the idea of using a solid tee.  Since my white one didn’t work I opted for a different solid tee and switched it out for blue.  Then I took it from there and instead of neutral shoes like in the inspiration pic, I added colorful shoes to balance everything out a little more (red here, orange pumps the next day).  And there you have it!  It doesn’t look much like the inspiration photo, but you can kind of see the resemblance and basic gist.  When you’re recreating a look and it doesn’t work, do you scrap it altogether or do you try to let it evolve?
