Outfits for Casual Holiday Parties

If any of you have upcoming low key holiday gatherings with friends, this post is for you!  I’m talking about the kind where you’re cozied up in someone’s house around a fire drinking hot chocolate or cider and doing a group gift exchange or a cookie exchange.  I love those types of hangouts, and today I’ve got a few outfits for you to wear to them!

It appears I’ve got sweaters on the brain because most of these looks involve sweaters.  When I’m hanging out in a laid back environment, I just want to be able to throw something on really easily, and sweaters are nice and warm without needing a lot of pieces.  Anyway, here are the outfits!

Cozy Statement Sweater with Texture + Jeans + Boots
A cute, cozy sweater will work every time!  Rather than going with a plain solid sweater, one with details like a slouchy cowl neck or heather red color makes a more interesting outfit.  Add some awesome boots and shimmer earrings to elevate it a little while still staying cozy.

This sweater is really soft and stretchy.  It has a very open knit, so it definitely needs a shirt underneath.  Without one, your skin would be peeking through all those holes down the front!  Luckily in colder sweater weather I usually prefer layers underneath sweaters anyway.  Also, because of the open knit the sweater isn’t super warm.  That’s not so great if you live in a very cold climate, but it’s really great if you live in a warmer climate like I do and want the look of a chunky cozy sweater without overheating.

And these boots?  I received them many, many months ago and love how they look, but it’s been way too warm here to wear them until now.  I love them with this red sweater though!  They’re on sale HERE with limited sizes and full price HERE with more sizes.

Sweater + Statement Necklace + Boots
If you want to go with a standard solid sweater, add a fun statement necklace to make it pop!  It’ll dress up your outfit just a bit while still maintaining a casual, cozy vibe.  Super, super easy outfit.  Bonus points if your sweater is a bright color too!

My necklace is several years old and was HERE but is unfortunately sold out now.  The same shop has a similar one made of turquoise stones HERE.

Another easy outfit is a fair isle sweater or any other printed sweater.  You don’t really need the vest or beanie when you’ve got a printed sweater, but adding at least one or the other will finish off your outfit juuuust enough.
