3 Comfy Outfits to Lounge In At Home + Cozy Gifts Roundup + Extra 20% Off Sale Items at Nordstrom!

I don’t know about you, but once I get home I immediately change into comfy clothes, even if just for a few hours before heading out the door again. I’ve been doing that since I was young and it continued into adulthood. That changed a bit once I began working primarily from home and since I began finding ridiculously comfortable jeans, but I still do it on days when I’m out and about a lot!

If you like comfy clothes too, then this post is for you! Today I’m partnering with Nordstrom to talk about some pieces that are great for lounging around the house. I’ve also rounded up some cozy comfy gifts that you could give to others (or to yourself ?) to fill their lives with warm fuzzies. Literally. Cuz these pieces are soft and fuzzy. ?

Lounge Outfit: Comfy Cardigan + Blanket + Jord Watch Comfy At Home Outfit: Leggings + Cardigan + Camisole + Plush Blanket Cardgain + Plush Blanket

Leggings + Soft Tee + Cozy Cardigan
If you swap the leggings for a comfy pair of skinny jeans, this is basically my outfit formula for life in general, ha!  The loungewear version, however, involves even softer and cozier pieces.

The cardigan I’m wearing is Barefoot Dreams, which is pretty darn pricey line yet has a LOT of hype and an enormous cult following.  I wanted to see what the fuss was about, so I ordered one and several weeks ago shared on Instastories my first impressions.  My verdict after wearing for a day: It is indeed crazy soft and cozy.  Personally I found it to be too heavy after a couple of hours, and heavy things on my neck just bug the heck out of me.  However, I think that’s what everyone likes about it.  It feels like you’re being hugged by a soft blanket or a cup of hot chocolate.  Yeah, I just said it feels like you’re being hugged by a cup of hot chocolate.  You know, that warm, comforting goodness!  That said, while I personally would still rather wear one of my other cozy cardigans, I am actually gifting this to two people this Christmas!  I’ve gotta say, they make very impressive gifts, and I think most people want something this snuggly while I’m the minority because of the pet peeve with my neck.  I hear they also machine wash and machine dry very well, which is another thing that people love and why they’re willing to pay for them.  So overall, maybe not for me personally, but definitely a gift I’m excited to give to a couple of my family members!  See it HERE in 8 colors.

People asked on Instastories which cardigan I prefer over Barefoot Dreams.  I have an arsenal of BP cardigans, but there is *one* BP cardigan that is above the rest, which is the black one I remixed last month.  It’s thicker and sturdier feeling than last year’s version and this year’s anniversary sale version.  Unfortunately it is sold out, but I found one by Dreamers that feels just like it HERE.  That one WAS available in 3 colors, including a similar color to the BFDs cardigan, but it’s selling out quickly while some colors and sizes pop back in and out.  Snag one ASAP if you can!  For reference I wear this Dreamers cardigan in size S.  See it HERE.

Also, this blanket is sooooo soft and would make a fantastic gift for family members, friends, or those people who you don’t know what to give like teachers or your distant aunt.  Addie totally loves this throw and keeps stroking it and talking about how fuzzy it is.  It comes in 17 colors(!!!) that you can see HERE.

Loungewear: Blue Butter Top + Leggings + Statement EarringsLoungewear: Blue Butter Top + Leggings + Statement earrings

Thicker Comfy Top + Leggings + Slippers
This combo, either with the butter tee I’m wearing above or the cowl fleece I’ve shown before, can easily be turned into athleisure with comfy sneakers.  Both of those tops are on the thicker side and can be worn without a cardigan if it’s not terribly cold.  I showed them in both athleisure and dressed up looks HERE, but they are both GREAT for lounging around the house in!

Important note on butter tee sizing:  I’ve shown this butter tee a lot in maroon, and here it is in blue.  I have the XS in maroon.  I naturally ordered the blue one in XS but for some reason it’s a whole 2 inches shorter than my maroon one!  I have no idea why, but I apologize if I’ve steered anyone wrong with sizing!  As always, I’d recommend ordering two sizes and taking advantage of Nordstrom’s FREE SHIPPING and FREE RETURN SHIPPING (!!) to send back whatever doesn’t work.

Alright, let’s talk leggings.  I have two favorite pairs of leggings, one by Hue and one by Zella, and I want to talk bout the differences.  Both have a wide waistband, which I thought I’d hate but actually LOVE because they don’t dig into your stomach and instead lay flat against it comfortably. I also never have to pull up either pair of leggings because the wide waistband helps keep them in place.

The Zella pair is thick and opaque and is actually made for athletic wear, but many people wear it for everyday outfits as well.  One note is that they are “sculpting” leggings, so they are a bit tighter to hold things together while you work out.  This is the pair I wear if I’m out and about.  I feel very secure in them because of how thick they are and how they “sculpt” you and hold everything in.  They are ??. I wear size M.  See them HERE.

The Hue pair is what I sleep in and lounge around the house in.  They are thinner than the Zella pair, and after enough wears and washes parts can get thin and a bit see through.  For me it’s where the material is stretched most, which is the rear and around the knees when bent.  In these I definitely need longer tops to cover everything in case I need to go outside to check the mail, talk to a neighbor, or bring in the garbage cans.  However, because they do not sculpt like the Zella pair, they are more relaxed and my lounge leggings of choice.  I wear size S.  See them HERE.

Loungewear: Grey Sweater + Leggings + Striped Tee Grey Sweater + Striped Tee + Leggings + Slippers Striped Tee + Grey Sweater + Leggings + JORD Watch

Fitted Sweatshirt + Striped Tee + Leggings or Joggers
A fitted yet slouchy sweatshirt is a cute step up from a regular sweatshirt, and this one is super duper soft.  Layering a striped tee underneath adds an extra layer of warmth, adds some dimension to the outfit, and also provides coverage if needed with leggings.  I don’t normally get tees with curved hems, and I would prefer this long sleeve side slit tee which comes in black, grey, white, and stripes!  I initially ordered it in black and now want the striped version of course!  It’s a great price, superrrr soft, and has a great relaxed, loose fit.  It is a tunic and very long (28″ in front and 30″ in back) and provides ample coverage with leggings.  See the tees HERE.  The XS fit me best with a very loose and forgiving fit that works with my 18 week baby bump.
