Okay, you ready for some outfits that you can fully enjoy Thanksgiving dinner in? 😄
SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
1. Stretchy Jeans w/ a Stretchy Waistband 🙌🏽
It should be no surprise that my number one option is pretty much any pair of Wit & Wisdom jeans with their “Ab-solution” waistband. Their jeans are SO comfy! They are super stretchy throughout the legs, and some pairs have incredibly soft denim (the softness varies depending on the style, but some are extremelyyyyy soft). But the real secret sauce is that the waistband is also really, REALLY stretchy thanks to having a comfy elastic band sewn in all the way around. They have a button and zipper, too. (Make sure the jeans are from their “Ab-solution” line or it may not have the stretchy elastic in the waistband.)
I own many, many pairs of Wit & Wisdom jeans, and here I’m wearing my go-to pair of dark wash skinny jeans. They’re available in regular and petite lengths HERE. I wear these in size 4.
These jeans are really versatile, so there are lots of sweaters and tops that you could pair with them. I’ll show you several options, but you can really pair them with anything!
The first is a statement sweater that I’ve mentioned before. It’s on the pricey side for sweaters, but I really do love it! Its ribbed texture paired with the v-neckline and balloon sleeves add so much style and make this sweater great for a nicer casual look with slip-on sneakers and easy to dress up for dinner. Another option is this easygoing sweater that I reviewed recently. It is VERY soft, but it’s also lightweight and comfy! I like the slightly ribbed band at the bottom and ever-so-slightly puffed sleeves. Those are very subtle details that upgrade this from a standard crewneck sweater. And, it’s on sale for 42% off! 1b. Stretchy Jeans w/ a Stretchy Waistband – Slim Crop
If you’re looking for a different silhouette than skinny ankle jeans, this pair of crop jeans is SOOOOO DANG COMFORTABLE! It’s another pair of Wit & Wisdom Ab-solution jeans, so the legs are super stretchy and they have a very comfy stretchy waistband. The denim is also just so, so soft. These are incredibly comfortable, and I just HAD TO mention them! They are technically a skinny crop cut, but they read similar to a straighter silhouette around the leg opening. I’ve owned these since the beginning of this year, and I love them so much because of how comfortable they are! Check them out HERE. I wear size 6.

2. Stretchy Corduroy Pants
If you want a change from denim, try these stretchy corduroy pants! Yup, stretchy and comfy! These are great in casual outfits, can be worn to work in relaxed business casual settings, and can easily be dressed up with a nice blouse and heels. I really love these as a comfy alternative to jeans that you can dress up or down.
These pants come in 9 colors! I wear them in size 4 in this color, but I would definitely recommend trying both your regular size and a size down. I tried sizes 4 and 6 for reference, and size 4 fit comfortably in this color, Cognac 2. However, size 4 felt a little tight in the Wine color (and not Thanksgiving dinner worthy!) and fit better in size 6. So, try a couple of sizes because it may vary by color. Thankfully, Nordstrom offers free shipping and free return shipping on all orders so it’s easy to find your best fit by ordering multiple sizes and returning for free the size that doesn’t work.
I’ve shared this long sleeve tee before, and it is VERY soft, stretchy, and comfy! It’s fitted, (not the relaxed and loose kind of tee), so it works really well for tucking into pants and skirts for more tailored looks. It looks great in work looks, like I showed in the blog post 5 Early Fall Work Outfits (That Are Really Comfy). This tee comes in this striped version in addition to 6 solid colors! See them HERE. If you’re thinking, “Audrey, I would never tuck my shirt in all the way, especially if I plan to eat a ton!” I fully understand! 😆 Don’t worry, you can pair these stretchy corduroy pants with looser tops, too. Of course! Try this cute textured sweater, the ribbed sweater with balloon sleeves that I showed in the previous outfit, the super soft and fuzzy sweater, or this blouse that has a great drape and doesn’t cling to your midsection. (For sizing reference, I wear all of those in size S.)

3. Leggings
Last, you can of course wear an outfit that utilizes leggings by pairing them with a long tunic sweater and tall boots! Not only does it provide comfort and give so that you can eat your heart out, it is also really, really easy to move around in. If you’ll be chasing your kids throughout the evening or if you’ll be doing a lot of cooking, this type of outfit is great!
These are the Zella Live-In leggings that are a PMT favorite! They’re actually activewear leggings, so they are thick, not see-through, and have compression to firm things up and keep you feeling secure. That said, my pair is a few years old and I believe they are more matte than the updated pairs, so the updated pairs might be harder to pull off a nicer look like this (as opposed to what they’re meant for, which is activewear or athleisure). Definitely worth a try though, since Nordstrom offers free shipping and free returns on all orders. Plus, they’re great for activewear and athleisure anyway, so if you’re in the market for good leggings, these are worth trying just for that. However, if you are looking for a different pair that isn’t activewear, you could try the Nordstrom Go-To High Waist Leggings, the BP High Rise Leggings, or the Spanx Look at Me Now Seamless Leggings. You could also try faux-leather leggings which would definitely dress up the outfit even more!
Then, throw on a tunic sweater! There are a lot out there, and this one is soooo comfy! It’s really, really SOFT and cozy! The cowl neck makes it even cozier, the curved hem detail provides some movement, and the folded, extra long ribbed sleeves give it a cute, relaxed vibe while adding another detail to elevate this from a basic tunic sweater. This comes in several colors, some of which are well stocked and some of which are available in limited sizes. Check them all out HERE. I wear size S.

If you’re looking for dressier options, try these EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE slacks by Liverpool HERE, which are super soft, thick, and very, very, VERY stretchy. I wear size 4 in those. You can also try this pair of slacks by Wit & Wisdom HERE, which are also very stretchy though not as thick as the Liverpool pants. I wear size 6 in those.
These are some great options to look good while being super duper comfortable during Thanksgiving dinner! And really, these are great options to wear every day, because who doesn’t want to be wearing comfortable pants all day, every day? 😄 Hope this helps you look and feel great this season!
